welcome to my office, where I spent most of my time exploring and learning. I feel like everyday I just continue to grow and develop and somehow, I feel more connected to myself🌿

I am currently learning about how the heart function, how we breathe and basically how we exist as a human being. It’s very complex and yes, draining to thy brain 🧠
But it’s beautiful how these system work.

When you face a difficult obstacle, know that there’s also beauty waiting for you on the other side. When you step back, you notice how everything is aligned and working together for your good💫

With that, I cannot wait to write my millionth exam tomorrow✨ wish me luck!

Stay safe and connected, love!

Oh Covid days,
Wear your mask.
Wash your hands.
Stay safe.

But most importantly,
show a little bit more kindness
to the people around you.
It may be a cashier, a healthcare provider, a teacher or to the person who handed you your coffee this morning,
show a bit more love.

Be patient to one another because we all are going through this.

Happy Monday🌿

Let’s start by saying I am not the same person as I was at the beginning of September, but I bet it’s the same for you even when it doesn’t feel like it. In such a short period, there was so much growth that happened- small or big. I was put under pressure, and many times, I had to step wayyy out of my comfort zone.

But in the end, I was able to overcome it anyway.

So what can I take away from it?

When life becomes preoccupied with challenges, it becomes so easy to say, “ I wish I were in his/her position right now.”

Instead of dreading to be at the finish line, learn to embrace the feeling of being ”uncomfortable.” As you feel overwhelmed with whatever it may be, think of it as an opportunity to prove yourself what you are capable of.

You’ll be surprised at what your mind and body can do when you tell yourself,
“This is not where I want to be right now, but I will continue to push through.”

Because in all honesty, you are capable of doing great things, but one must take courage.✨

I am learning to water where I am planted instead of believing it’s better on the other side. As I overcome every little or big challenges in life, I am growing as a person. I am sprouting with strength, wisdom and knowledge. So when the right time comes, I can bloom with confidence and what I have planted is now the result of my hard work.

Happy Tuesday🌿

SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX: REST DAY🌿
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After some reflection, I decided to take a Social Media Detox every Sunday, ‪starting tomorrow‬!!

What is it exactly?

It is the conscious choice of refraining from any social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, etc. for a set period of time. I had done this in the past when I took a year off from all social media. (A bit extreme, but so glad I did it!)

Out of all the days in a week, I chose Sunday to remind myself the value of rest and mentally prepare myself for the coming week.

If you think about it, social media has been part of our daily life. We find ourselves always reaching for our phone in the form of a HABIT. It’s a cycle of ENDLESS scrolling, and let’s be honest, it’s our biggest enemy for stealing time.

So let me ask you this:
-If you reach out to your phone right now, which app will you be checking?
-What do you benefit from checking it?
-Does the positive outweigh the negative?

I am not saying you should entirely remove yourself from social media. I am saying you should find a balance where you can control your actions and thoughts and not let social media control you.

So I invite you to do this with me 💭 Find a date that works for you and let it be a time for you to connect with yourself and the people around you in the real world.🦋
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
and with that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🌾

So here’s my first try of making this kind of art. It’s messy but it feels calming🌿

Growth is not as straightforward.
If it was,
there will be
no hardship,
no lesson learned,
and no appreciation of where you are now.

HOW DO YOU FIND TIME FOR YOURSELF when it feels like the workload just never stops?

I can’t believe it’s October already🍂 September was one heck of a ride!! I wrote my first exam last week and now I’m about to write another exam this coming Monday like how?! My schedule is packed- my email keeps going off, meetings here and there and hundreds of readings every day and 24/7 staring on my laptop screen.

Last night, I got caught up with my group meeting and forgot to eat. I didn’t even realize until my boyfriend brought it up.

It made me realize that I need to STEP BACK and BREATHE. but HOW?

By giving myself permission to do so and understanding that it is more than okay to take a break.

This morning,
I let myself sleep in for another 30 mins.
I cleaned the house 🌿
I tried making salsa👩🏼‍🍳
I allowed myself to do something other than schoolwork.

Even when it feels like you have better things to do, allow yourself to REST.

Remember that
you are capable, strong, hardworking and smart human being- even when circumstances makes you think otherwise. So with that, let your body recuperate and give the rest it needs.

Adulting 101 - helped my sister move to a new place yesterday and it was a piece of work📦

We started unloading her stuff from the storage unit to her new place at around 7pm and we didn’t finish till midnight. There was a lot of lifting, thinking and sweating, especially that her place had stairs. stairs. stairs.

Seeing the whole process- from the open house to actually moving in was so overwhelming, yet so exciting! It was a lot of work but it definitely was satisfying!

Did I mention that I’m in love with her kitchen! The fun part is decorating the house 🌱Mom & I will be helping her decorate so it will be aesthetically pleasing 🏠

The thought of me getting my own place gives me chills but that’s not till later so I don’t have to worry yet😌

For now, cheers to my sister on her new journey in life🥂

Started the trip with a bit of a steep hike to the top of the mountain🏔

I am so blessed to be able to experience this view with my sister and my mom. Dad chose to stay down as he is scared of heights.

On the other hand, big applause to my mom for staying strong and pushing through till the end 💪🏼

The hike took us 2 hours in total but the view was definitely worth every steps🦋⛰

Is there anyone here scared of heights?

T- 1 till my one week road trip with my family 🌇 I really thought that I wouldn’t be able to go anywhere far due to the pandemic but after all the cancelled plans, here we are!

No need to worry as we will be taking extra precautions, wearing masks and avoiding any large crowds.

Our itinerary also focuses on hiking and sightseeing which I am so pumped about!🌱 ⛰

And lastly, there will be lots of seating and eating in the car. During this trip, I’ll also step out of my comfortable zone and try different foods to the point that I’ll have to unzip my jeans😋

It’s 12:07 am right now and I.need.to.sleep. Hitting the road tomorrow! 🚗

Talk later, amazing people🦋

N E W M O N T H, N E W G O A L S☀️

I’ve been really soaking every moment of my free time either out in the sun or relaxing inside my house.

One of my goals this month is to be more MINDFUL- to be aware of my thoughts, emotions, and how I’m feeling both physically and mentally 🍃

HERE ARE SOME SIMPLE TIPS that could go a long way to a healthy mind🦋

🌱 drink a glass of water first thing in the morning to rehydrate the body which allows for a better digestion

🌱 Say 5 things you are grateful for out loud - this is something I just started doing every morning

🌱 Be aware of your emotions- Notice when you have a difficult feeling (anger, anxiety, stress etc) and be mindful of it. Take notice that you’re completely okay even with the feeling.

🌱Find ways to relax- meditation, yoga, cooking, essential oils, reading a book, taking a bath 🛁

🌱A nature break- walking in or even just looking at nature calms our nerves and relieves stress

🌱Spend time with others to build your sense of belonging

Lastly, listen to your body and give it what it needs- an advice that tends to get overlooked . We only get one body so take care of it with love and understanding.

FIRST CAMPING OF THE YEAR ⛺️

This was my home over the weekend and I loved every moment of it despite not having any internet connection. Being disconnected to social media definitely has its own benefits.

Camping gave me time to pause and analyze my life.

I’ve realized that time is truly passing by so fast and in about a month- I’ll be occupied with heavy workload as a nursing student 👩🏻‍⚕️

But for now, I want to make the best out of my free time

To connect to the present
connect to the people I care about
connect to nature
and most importantly,
to connect to myself.
