A few years back, Dan Skyhorse Helms, Chief of the Santa Rosa Creek Band Lower Muscogee, made a speech in downtown Pensacola that stuck with me.

Just a block away from the restaurant named after the president who enacted the Indian Removal Act, Chief Dan declared, "We are still here."

The Blue Trees & Blue Cheese event hosted by Historic Pensacola was moved inside, but that didn't stop it from being a great event!

The artist used chalk paint with part of the idea being that the indigo color makes you SEE the trees to appreciate their importance.

I got to catch up with Rob Overton, the Executive Director of the UWF Historic Trust & long time supporter of the show.

I also ran into Jessie Drossos whom you may recognize from the Haunted Hometown episode (ep 51) where she shared Pensacola haunted stories!
