Guru Hargobind's Condemnation of Violence Against Women⁣

In Episode 125 of the Suraj Podcast (Chapter 5 of Raas 5 of the Suraj Prakash), we heard how the Emperor Jahangir presented Guru Hargobind with the wife and young son of the vile Chandu. Guru Hargobind however did not take revenge on them and set them free. In Episode 126, Jetha approaches Guru Hargobind and asks why this was done, in his mind the wife and young child should have been killed, but Guru Hargobind responds to him saying:⁣

ਭਲੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੀ ਨਹਿਂ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਾ । ਕ੍ਯਾ ਦਾਰਾ ਪਰ ਕਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿ ? ।⁣
"This is not the action of a righteousness person. [What kind of person] would ever strike at women?"
