Our last of 2022 is coming up, confirmed for Wednesday, December 21st! Myself and .upnorth will be heading out for food and some bowling before the winter holidays kick in ☃️✨

We’re going to meet at at 5:30pm for a bite to eat and then head off to for around 7pm 🎳🍔

As always, this is a FREE event, hosted by q***r/neurodiverse people 🏳️‍🌈 You’re welcome to turn up anytime between 7-10pm and leave whenever you’re ready to! Bring games, books or other stuff to do or just come say hi 👋🏼

There’s lots of food choices available here, including veggie, vegan and GF 🤤 there’s ramp access into the building via the main entrance for wheelchairs and pushchairs, as well as disabled access toilets ♿️
Toilets are gendered at this venue, but the disabled toilet is accessible to all genders 🏳️‍⚧️

Autumn is on its way and I’m so excited for cosy days at home playing games and watching movies with hot drinks 🍂

The other thing I’m excited for are all the autumn and winter markets coming up, some of which I’ll be visiting and others stall-holding! We only started markets in April of this year and have loved every moment of it (even the quiet ones where we come out at a loss) because of all the fantastic people who are there too 🥰

GREYS X CANNY Q***R COLLECTIVE 🌈🧺

We’re super excited to collaborate with the Canny Q***r Collective (CQC) to co-host an LGBT+ friendly picnic on Saturday the 13th of August at 4pm. Our event is FREE for everybody, with no booking or reservations required. Please bring your own picnic as we will not be providing food for this event 🥗🍱

The CQC will be selling merch on the day, and we'll also be collecting donations for the non-profit organisation, Stop Asian Hate UK. SAHUK are a grassroots CIC advocating for East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) lives.

We invite you to join us at Leazes Park, Newcastle, for games, socialising, art and a chill out in the sun (hopefully!). There will be a mixture of board games, cards and games from your childhood sports days. Think three-legged races, tag, frisbees, and red light, green light from the extremely popular Squid Game 🦑🥏

ACCESSIBILITY:
- Toilets are available at Leazes Park; these toilets are gendered. We're unable to change this at this time.
- Disabled parking is available nearby. The park has concrete paths and is wheelchair friendly. However, we will be on the grass for the picnic.
- Whilst you do not need to identify as LGBT+ to attend, you have to be an ally to the LGBT+ community.
- This event is for people of all ages. People aged 16 and under need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- No hate or discrimination.
- We will not tolerate underage drinking or other illegal activities.
- Bins are onsite; we will not accept littering and will do a litter pick if needed.
- As much as we love a good barbecue, we have a strict no BBQ rule.

Things you need/might want to bring:
- Food & Drinks
- Picnic Blankets
- Hot & Cold weather clothes
- Raincoat & Umbrella
- Sunscreen
- Games or instruments you want to play
- Book and art supplies
- Anything else, for example camping chairs or cushions etc.

Really over the moon to be announcing Greys Workshops! In collaboration with The Stuft Olive, we’re hosting a 3 hour beginners workshop into punch needle embroidery Journey Cafe Bar ! 🥳

"Hi, I’m Em, the creator behind The Stuft Olive! I have always had a love for creating textural things, with my background being in art and textile design. During the lockdown, I found the craft of punch needling (a lesser-known form of embroidery) and have been hooked ever since. I am so excited to share what I have learned so far in our three-hour workshop on Wednesday, July 27th at The Journey Bar & Cafe, Newcastle."

In this workshop, we will take it one step at a time to create something handmade and totally unique to you. We will provide all the equipment needed, including an embroidery hoop, punch needle, monks cloth, yarn, felt, scissors and a glue gun. After the event, you can take home your own embroidered coaster, or as Em likes to call them - your mug rug!

The event is ticketed, and costs £10 with 10 tickets available for purchase. We aim to make our workshops as affordable as possible, therefore this ticket cost covers the cost of materials only, so you don’t need to bring anything but yourself (and maybe some pent up rage to let out with your punch needle). You can tip us if you’d like to - there’s no pressure - proceeds will be split 50:50 between both facilitators and will contribute towards our time and energy spent arranging the event! 🥰 you can book your ticket now via Eventbrite using the link below 🙌🏼

No experience is required to take part in this course! We are happy to accommodate sign language interpreters, support workers and carers. Contact us privately to arrange their free attendance.
