Charity Appeal - Update images - Simbarashe Dande now 9 years old and still struggling with the tumour , in Murehwa , Zimbabwe.

Dear all donors and well wishers. I hope I find you all well. Sincere apologies for the silence.Things have not been well for Simbarashe and family since the unsuccessful surgery in South Africa in 2019 and his father's death.

The tumour keeps growing , he is still using a breathing tube inserted in South Africa in 2019 (4 years ago) and it needs cleaning and changing. The mother uses ear buds to clean the tube.

I have shared with you Simbarashe videos and images taken in February 2024 in Murehwa after a visit with food , medication , toiletries and cash.

The struggle continues with Simbarashe's health woes.He is now 9 years old and you have been helping him since he was 4 years old. Your help is greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.

He is still on soft diet and has a good appetite. In the images he is seen eating yorghurt.

Following the death of Simbarashe's father the family had challenges with accommodation as Simbarashe's mother had to move house. While all this was going on , Simbarashe was still struggling with his health.Life is still hectic for the family.

Of late Simbarashe's tumour has been swelling and bleeding but the bleeding is less than before. At one time Simbarashe fell unconscious for about twenty minutes but later gained conciousness.The family thought they had lost him.

Simbarashe is currently staying with his mother and younger brother , 7 year old Tatenda , who is now going to school .

The first born of the four siblings Phibion who is 20 years is currently in Gweru staying with a well wisher. The second born ,15 year old Patience is now staying with her aunt in Kwekwe.

Simbarashe is currently not going to school due to his health. Other children feel uncomfortable when they see him so he needs home schooling but the family has no resources.

Simbarashe's mother confirmed that Simbarashe is not going to school because other children are scared of him because of his condition.

She also said she is having financial constraints and is struggling to provide Simbarashe with basic things like food and medication. She said she is not receiving any other outside help except for the help from well wishers if they come through but only auntie Violet visits and helps the family.

His mother explained that it is really difficult to dress Simbarashe as this causes him some discomfort when clothes are pulled over the tumour down his neck so he prefers clothes with open front. She went on to say that Simbarashe also wants some shirts with front buttons as these are easier to dress and don't cause him pain. She added that he struggles to breathe at night and he puts his fingers in his mouth when sleeping to allow air.

The mother said Simbarashe is a very bright boy who plays with his younger brother, Tatenda but is struggling with pain.

Simbarashe said he experiences constant headaches due to the tumour.

There is still hope because when Simbarashe was given yoghurt bought by auntie Violet and he ate the yorghurt on his own with no issues. He can still eat and speak despite the tumour growing. The mother said he has a good appetite and eats soft foods on his own.

When lunch was served Simbarashe ate and finished his meal of sadza, soup and chicken.

The family does not have a stable source of income and the mother relies on subsistence farming and some meagre income that comes from Phibion. The family struggles with sourcing basic necessities such as special diet and prescribed medication for Simbarashe.

That said life is still very tough for the family as Simbarashe is still suffering from the cancerous tumour which keeps growing and has almost closed his mouth .Simbarashe needs medication such as pain killers and an ointment to keep flies away. Simbarashe is still struggling to breathe and opens his mouth using his fingers when sleeping to enable him to breathe properly. The tube around his neck which was put by the medical team in South also helps him with breathing.

Simbarashe needs home schooling. He cannot go to school because other children are scared of the tumour growing on his face. Even interaction with other children is a challenge because if the tumour is scratched it bleeds profusely.

Simbarashe's mother is staying in a small one room which they have been asked to vacate and build their own homestead since the house they were staying in belongs to her inlaws. So at the moment she cannot afford to build her own house as she is struggling with sourcing basic necessities.

The family is desperate for assistance with cash , clothes, foodstuffs especially for Simbarashe as he is on a special diet. They also need money to buy medication such as painkillers and an ointment for keeping flies away from him. Simbarashe also needs books for home schooling since he cannot attend formal schooling . He also needs clothing especially shirts with buttons since closed shirts cause him severe discomfort when wearing them due to the growth on his face.

As family we are kindly asking for help to help the family.

We intend to try all over again and see if we can get him over to the developed world for medical help. We are kindly asking for suggestions as well in case there is a medical team that may help.

I need to write to President Emmerson Mnangagwa to stop this nonsensical menace. We can't continue to have a nation of selfish and irresponsible citizens who continue to brag about cars , receive ill gotten wealth while children are suffering with no shelter , clothing , food , school fees etc. For the sake of transparency and accountability , Chivayo should be investigated as well.He has to explain his businesses and how he is generating his wealth.

All those accepting these cars are heartless and someone has to stop the menace. This ill gotten wealth can be used to benefit children in need and not splash on selfish individuals who don't even need the cars. It is just greed and pure evilness.

What annoyed me most is one of the beneficiaries is a self proclaimed woman of God Chaplain Christine Phiri but she has no heart.

Secondly, is Alick Macheso still Red Cross ambassador. If so I need to write to the Red Cross as well seeking clarity why their ambassador is heartless and associating with ill gotten wealth.

I am in Zimbabwe struggling with building an orphanage for children using personal wages,

A very good day to you all. I hope I find you all well and that the Almighty is protecting you from all forces of evil.

HFZC wish you all an angelic 2024 and hearts filled with giving and not receiving. I pray this year the Amlighty will open your hearts and hands for the needy and use you to engage in impressive charity work and with genuine organisations. Blessed is the hand that given than the one that taken.

Thanking all who support this charity cause from the bottom of my heart. We are doing it for our Zimbabwe Children and not for HFZC or for myself.

Many came forward to help and more are coming . Thank you so much for your kindness.

Obviously 2023 has been a very good year not only for myself personally but for HFZC and our country , especially Checheche , Chipinge Manicaland where I bought the first orphanage stand. What makes me more proud is I sacrificed my salary to save for this goal. So far I am covering all the expenses using my personal funds towards this passion. There is no Western donor involved. I feel as of now the Almighty has given me the energy and life to work and put the foundation in place before we start begging. HFZC will start formal fundraising too in the near future . Hoping many of you will be there for the mission and vision.

Checheche I hope you are counting yourselves lucky because history has been made in your area and Angels will be flying all over you.

I thank the Almighty and still don't believe that the promise is being fulfilled. It is not easy to work so hard and save the money to buy stands to build orphanages but this was possible by the Grace of the Almighty sitteth in my heart.

So yes 2023 is the year for me to proclaim that I made it , I took the gigantic step for the sake of our children. Thanking all those who helped and are helping in the back ground.

There was some bit of sad news towards the end of the year. It seems Topsnash care rental forgot to respond to our request for donations - vehicles to use in our charity work. It seems many of us are now just focused on not gifting charities to help the needy in our society. It seems it is now more convenient to gift so called socialites and comedians and not gifting charities helping the needy in our communities. It is a sad reality but this is the kind of Zimbabwe we are now living in.

On top of that, a handful of lost souls instead of helping us to speak on our behalf to Topsnash tried to cause havoc on the facebook post to stop children from getting the help. Who does that honestly except for satan's disciples. I wondered. Whatever we do in life NEVER look down on the needy or disrespect a genuine environment created to help them. Have some conscience. Moreso , the needy can be anyone in future.

Our children are being neglected not by the government only but by ourselves as well . We all have a duty and responsibility to look after our children.

My heart breaks and bleeds for our children living in poverty and in environments infested with all sorts of hazards. We are obviously not doing enough to help and protect our children from abuse.

I pray 2024 will be the year for all of us to recognise that Zimbabwe will be a better place for Children if we all stand up for children.

🔥On transparency- Some of you are now part of our prospective formal volunteers ( to be paid volunteer allowance). I will share their names soon. If you have any concerns with their involvement please feel free to let me know in confidence on whatsapp +447518230600. I will not tell them you told me something disturbing but I will tell them the information I have received is not good enough for them to be formally involved in this project as a formal volunteer. They will be more productive as a donor. Our children have suffered enough and HFZC will not allow further suffering caused by the people we work with. I take the issue of quality seriously as some of you are already aware of.

You did not see a formal advert seeking volunteers because I hand picked to train as of now.

However , if you feel you have the HEART to help the needy and can be a volunteer or can help in any other way always feel free to contact me as well.

All advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated as well. It is a national project. Please always feel free to get in touch to help us become better when need be. When sending advice and suggestions I kindly ask that you politely share your advice and suggestions. The idea is to help us become better. If you curse and claim to be giving advice or suggestions , chances are very high your approach will unravel and evoke unpleasant emotions.

Also be mindful that I am very passionate and serious about this vision so before posting your comments on charity posts I suggest you think first and word your views in a respectable manner. You don't want to end up disrupting a sincere cause for our children . 😭 The chaotic lives of Zimbabwe children - Is this what the independence brought to our nation - The freedom to abuse children.

" A nation that doesn't care for its children is a wicked nation - Violet Makunike.

Zimbabwe children are suffering and being destroyed. It is like the country has no government , parents , guardians ,well wishers, churches , teachers , children organisations , women organisations. Children are engaging in all sorts of illicit activities and being forced into prostitution , binge drinking, drug abuse. Children are being sexually abused and forced into early marriages. Children are being kidnapped. All sorts of evil is happening alongside all sorts of immoral activities.

I never saw these things during my childhood. When I was 13 years old I would spend hours craming the students companion , reading the dictionary , tsumo nemadimikira and reading novels , garandichauya , kusasana kunoparira , ndiko kupindana kwemazuva etc ,cooking , baking cakes, knitting , sewing , cleaning , gardening . All the baking skills I attained at a very tender age. We used to look up to adults and churches for guidance.

If only we could all understand that good upbringing doesn't only shape the behaviour of children but it also shapes the direction of nations. As it is the future of Zimbabwe is doomed.

For example dancehall music has brought with it drug abuse , indecent lyrics and other sorts of immoral activities.

Adults are just no longer the type of adults that morally benefit society.

The so called socialites are just a hopeless mess and some children claim these are their role models.

The Zimbabwe print and online media including social media platforms have fallen victim as well and are promoting bad for the sake of views. The companies have fallen culprits as well and are promoting bad for the sake of monetary profits.

Money is the root of all this evil.

It is now all about making money and not about looking after children. We have just become a BIG social disgrace.

Good morning Topsnash car rental. I hope I find you well. My name is Violet Makunike , Hope For Zimbabwe Children (HFZC) founder.HFZC helps Zimbabweans in need especially children.

HFZC is currently looking for resources to spread our wings and build orphanages etc. The first orphanage is as in image below in Checheche. I am sacrificing my personal salary to fund the project so far.

I understand your company has donated a vehicle to Felistas Murata , mai t**i as per the image below, giving me the impression that you have enough resources to donate even to charities. I am of the opinion that if you can donate to a person to flaunt their life on social media you can surely donate to a charity helping our Zimbabwe children living under bridges etc.

That said I am kindly asking for 2 vehicles for HFZC preferably a van like type or minibus to ferry staff and children and a truck to carry goods. If you can donate like a land cruiser as well or type of vehicle that can safely manoeuvre terrains I will greatly appreciate. Opposition CCC, whose leader Mr Nelson Chamisa cannot account for the US$2,5 million received from donors ahead of the August harmonised elections, has been kicked out of rented property in Belvedere, Harare, The Herald can report.

Mr Chamisa, who leads a party without structures nor constitution, now finds himself at the apex of a formation with no fixed abode after he was ejected from the Belvedere house due to failure to pay rentals.

Having lost control of the former united MDC headquarters, Harvest House in central Harare, the CCC has been hopping from one rented house to another, and often the party leaves the properties amid threats from irate landlords over non-payment of their dues.

Apparently, this is the same situation in Belvedere where Mercy Dunatuna Muvhundusi (MDM) Attorneys, who are representing the unnamed clients, gave Mr Chamisa and his workers the marching orders.

“We represent the property owners of Number 10 Beal Road, Belvedere, Harare. We are advised by our clients that sometime in May 2023 you entered into a verbal agreement in terms of which you were to lease the main house excluding the main bedroom. The rentals for the property were pegged in the sum of US$1 000,00 per month.

“Our clients further advise that for the months of July and August 2023, you paid rentals in the sum of US$800,00 instead of the agreed amount of US$1 000,00,” reads the letter in part.

Apart from failing to pay the full sum in rentals for the main house, Mr Chamisa also took occupation of a cottage at the same property adding to his bills which he characteristically could not settle.

“We are further advised that in September 2023, you took occupation of one of the cottages at the house. The rentals for the cottage and security deposit were in the amount of US$900,00. Despite that you have taken occupation of the cottage, you have failed or neglected to pay the rentals and the security deposit.

“You thus owe our clients rental arrears in the total sum of US$1 300,00.

As such you are in breach of the lease agreement. As a result of the breach, our clients have decided to cancel the lease agreement with immediate effect. This letter thus serves as notification of cancellation of the lease agreement between yourselves and our client”.
With CCC having breached the lease agreement, the property owners are determined to eject the party or they will, through their lawyers, seek further legal remedies.

“In light of the fact that you are in breach of the lease agreement, there is no requirement on our part to give you notice to vacate. You are therefore required to vacate our client’s premises forthwith failing which we shall institute legal proceedings against you for your eviction and holding over damages, and the costs of such proceedings at a legal pract**ioner and client scale shall be to your account. Be guided accordingly,” reads the letter.

Recently, it was revealed that the European Union handed Mr Chamisa US$2,5 million when he visited The Netherlands before the elections. Instead of paying polling agents at the more than 12 000 polling stations, Mr Chamisa pocketed the money.

The status quo, apart from creating fresh cracks in the opposition party, has also exposed Mr Chamisa’s dictatorial inclinations, proving the Americans, who refused to fund his political campaign because he had no structures and that the party uses his personal account for any transactions, right.

Good morning to you all fellow Zimbabweans. I hope I find you all well.

Sincere apologies for the silence. I was travelling and had erratic access to wifi in Emirates. I just landed at Robert Mugabe international airport a couple of hours ago.

I am obviously gobsmacked by the state of our nation but I thank the Almighty that at least our needy orphans will have a roof over their heads and those affected by the severe effects of drugs will be supported with at least different approaches courtesy of my dedication and expetise to turn their lives around.I will sprearhead protests against drug traffickers too . More to follow.

That said fellow Zimbabweans , this journey is also specifically to buy the stands so we can start working on it

Meanwhile , I would like to thank my dear brother Good Samaritan for providing me with the wheels to use on this special journey. May the Almight continue to bless him and all of you supporting the various causes.

I would also like to thank Savanna development for the opportunity to buy stands in Penhalonga and Fern Valley , Mutare. The terms are very reasonable but I will pay cash with no instalments. I have been saving for it as you are all aware.

My name is Violet. I am writing as a well wisher who was approached by the relatives of UK based young women, 24 year old DD1 and her sister 21 year old DD2 (I have their home address and phone number). One of the relatives TS is in the UK and the sisters in South Africa and their mother is in Zimbabwe, Africa. TS approached me for help. The relative in the UK for fear of reprimand by Betty Makoni did not challenge Betty about the alleged abuse as she feared Betty as well, and also feared that the abuse will worsen and place DD1 and DD2 in a worse situation. The relative approached me to be the voice of the voiceless and help whistle blow the alleged abuse concerns and for a safeguarding to be raised against Betty Makoni and GCN associates to stop contacting DD1 and DD2 and to stop getting involved in their welfare. The information I am narrating below was given to me by the relative in UK (TS), the sister in South Africa and DD1. I have translated some communication in Shona (Zimbabwe mother tongue to English).

She said the 2 young women live in Canvey Island in a 1 bed roomed flat which they got through Canvey Island Council. DD1 and DD2 are vulnerable victims of previous abuses and they live on their own in the UK. DD1 is said to to have a mild autism and can read and write but not much and DD2 is said to have a learning disability (autism). Having arrived in the UK they claim to have been introduced to Betty Makoni who lives in Canvey Island by a cousin. They allege Betty Makoni has been abusing them and they feared reporting to anyone until DD1 was feeling suicidal and she told her mother in Zimbabwe and her sister about the abuse and that they are gping to find her dead. The sisters and mother were disturbed by what her daughters had narrated and were going through and they asked the relative in the UK to help DD1 and DD2 to report the concerns to authorities and assist them to stop Betty Makoni from abusing them and to cut ties with Betty.

On [05/01, 2:10 pm] TS wrote me a whats app message saying, Hi. Can you help us please? There is a social worker who took 2 ‘girls’’ 1 is a slow learner the other one is better and can work and fend for herself.

*Modern day slavery*
The problem is the social worker (Betty) is taking these girls to her house whenever she feels like, even when it is cold and snowing and demanding that they do household chores, laundry, cooking, cleaning and any other jobs she feels like giving them for free against their wish. They fear that if they refuse Betty will get angry and verbally abuse them as she does if they show resentment or refuse any of her demands. The girls said Betty has taken control of their lives, and is exploiting them for personal gain and coercing and engaging in involuntary actions of exploitation towards the girls such that the girls have lost their freedom and now living in fear. Betty is taking advantage of the girls and constantly reminds the girls that she helped them so the expectation is the girls have to pay for it one way or the other.
At times Betty asks the girls to go and work at her friends’ houses and also asking them to be child minders when her friends are travelling. If the girls refuse she gets angry and at times sends audios to DD1 showing her anger. The girls are always phoning crying because of the abuse and claiming Betty wanted to take the girls to her friend’s place to be child minders and DD1 refused and Betty sent her an audio (in my possession) showing her bitterness.

*Workers abuse*
DD1 is also asked to work at GCN office in the UK and is being exploited for commercial gain. Betty Makoni would at times give her cash in hand £700.00 as a wage with no payslip and then she will ask for the money back. DD1 said she has a card and Betty Makoni would buy her family personal groceries using the girls’ card. She threatens them saying if you go for shopping and if I notice that you have gone for shopping I will call the police to arrest you.

*Verbal abuse Betty*

DD1 claims ever since they left Zimbabwe, Betty verbally abuses them constantly saying to the girls, you were homeless, I found you in the streets, if it wasn’t for me you would be destitute. You are not educated. Betty denies the girls to see relatives and relatives to see the girls fearing the girls will report the concerns. She only allows the girls to go to her relatives’ houses .She curses the girls saying their relatives don’t even like them that is why they were destitute and before she ‘rescued’ them.

When Betty’s friends and relatives visit her house or when there is a function she takes the girls to do the decorations, cooking, sweeping, tyding, and cleaning. Betty doesn’t wash the dishes; she dumps them in the sink until the water is slippery and almost mouldy and she goes to pick up the girls to go to her house to clean the dishes.

She tells the visitors that the girls were homeless and destitute when she saw them, and she helped them to be where they are. She tells her visitors that the girls were chased away by their father who is in UK and married to a white woman who couldn’t cope with the children’s disabilities and she said lots more about the girls’ experiences in Zimbabwe. DD1 said the visitors just look at each other wondering why Betty is breaching confidentiality and humiliating the girls in front of her visitors.

Betty was not allowing the children to go to church and saying if they go to church they will be impregnated. She feared if she allows the girls go to church they will report the concerns to church members or church elders.

Her controlling behaviour has caused so much emotional harm to the girls who have lost confidence and feel disempowered and frightened. The psychological / emotional abuse has negatively impacted on the girls who are living in constant fear and want to move to a new place far away from where Betty lives. DD1 said they live a few minutes from where Betty lives and the job centre where she signs is also near Betty’s house.

DD1 is not allowed to buy herself some stuff or send her mother money yet she can use World remit. If she asks Betty for permission to send her mother money Betty frightens her and tells DD1 that she will be arrested by UK police if she sends her mother money. DD2 cannot work but DD1 can work and is looking for a job.

DD’s sisters are house maids in South Africa. When the brother got sick the sisters asked Betty for the money and she refused with the money until he died and demanded that their mother thank her for the help. When the girls’ brother passed away in Zimbabwe DD1 gave Betty some money to send to Zimbabwe and up to now Betty has not sent the money. Betty went with the money to Austarlia.DD1 has since stopped asking Betty to give her back the money because she will be verbally attacked by Betty. Betty told DD1 that she will not give her the money back because her mother should first thank Betty for helping the girls, yet she knows their mother is not feeling well. She said she was sending £150.00 per month but was not sending
DD1 is able to use word remit but she was threatened and not allowed to world remit the money.

Since yesterday 05/01/23 Betty is all over face book trying to cover her back and silencing anyone who is despising her controlling and abusive behaviour. She is posting the girls’ images on her face book page without their consent claiming she helped the girls and where they live and her followers and face book users now know who the girls are and where they live.

*Harassment*
Betty is sending people to phone the girls demanding to know why DD1 exposed her abuse and the girls are living in fear and locking themselves in the flat. The girls are asking that you phone social work protection team of vulnerable adults in Canvey Island to let them know what is happening and for an investigation to be undertaken and for a safeguarding to be raised so that Betty stops contacting the girls or go to the flat and they need a social worker to help them . Betty is sending people to contact DD1 demanding that she reports to the GCN office and write an email to explain who raised the abuse issue and posted in a face book group Ladies in UK (LUK) of which Betty is a member. They feel Betty is terrorising them into silence. I told her to ignore her for her safety. Betty is supposed to protect girls but she is abusing them.

The girls have low self esteem and DD1 cannot write much maybe due to too much trauma in her life.

Can you please help us one of the girls is saying she has had enough of the abuse and her mother and relatives will find her dead. The girls need help please I'll give you their numbers so you can call the relevant authorities for them.
