INCIDENT LOCATION: area of Jefferson Ave. and Buchanan Rd., New London, CT

DATE: 04/15/2023

TIME: 3:09 a.m.

INVESTIGATION STATUS: ACTIVE INVESTIGATION

SUMMARY:

* Updated Information - 4/17/23 *

Next of kin notifications have been made. The deceased 17 year old juvenile is identified as Dnazia Uzzle, DOB 05/25/2005, of Groton, CT.

The other two individuals referenced that were transported to L+M Hospital for medical treatment are identified as Erica Cherry, DOB 01/05/1983, and Nshon Cherry, DOB 12/17/2003, both of New London, CT. Both Erica Cherry and Nshon Cherry were transported and treated for what was determined to be non-life threatening stab wounds.

A ruling on the cause and manner of death from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still pending.

The investigation is still active and ongoing. .

Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the New London Police Department Detective Division at 860-447-1481 or anonymous information may be submitted via the New London Tips 411 system by texting NLPDTip plus the information to Tip411 (847411).

See this is what New London Tales isn’t about. Why are you posting and causing drama about a family having a nice ride. All these forum pages bring DRAMA. Not one of them care about new London , especially the “Developing story” Guy. All they do is sit behind a screen and talk absolute BULL about New London but don’t do anything to change it. 🤔
