This past weekend at The Great Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion I was stopped a lot and asked about our Hatchet Overland camper top on the Jeep. At the hotel I got to give a tour to some curious people 😃. The Smoky Mountains were packed with over 70,000 people attending!

Pretty chill day so far for Father’s Day but that’s about to change.. heading back into the city of Savannah to check out more of what is going on and to catch up with Nicholas Mays. As hot as it is here I would bet that most pools are full but I had this one all to myself!!

I have found a hidden camping gem for Savannah ga that I will definitely be using again!

Our final episode of our trip along the Wyoming BDR last August taking us along Section 1(north to south) from Centennial, WY to Baggs, WY. It was a breath-taking section with views that were fantastic!

WYBDR Section 1 (160 miles)

Highlights along this route were: ‘Aspen Alley’ • Bridger Peak in the Sierra Madres • Rob Roy Reservoir • Spruce Mountain Lookout

Travel dates: August 23-25, 2022

The final section of our Wyoming BDR journey we left Centennial, WY for the 160 mile final trail, including the expert section on Section 1 taking us to Baggs, WY to finish the Wyoming BDR (riding from North to South).

We climbed to the highest point of 11,004 ft to the lookout tower on Bridger Peak as well as traversed the valleys and ultimately camped with the cows in what felt like the middle of nowhere on our last night of the trail. Section 1 did not disappoint as the views at just about every turn were fantastic.

What a great way to end a 2 week adventure.

This is Holly posting, and so excited to brag on David’s fantastic invention that has come to life! High quality storage bags for the Jeep JLU & JKU!

The big debut is finally here. David technically launched this at The MOORE Expo in April, but we were still getting inventory going and other complications like setting up the online store. That’s all done now and we are excited to start offering our Jeep Wrangler JLU & JKU hard-mounted soft bag storage system to the general public being launched more completely at Overland Expo West (Booth D7 with Hatchet Overland)

These bags were designed by David after all his efforts failed to find the perfect storage bags for the Jeep. And even better, these are USA Made! These bags have high quality 1000D material, YKK zippers, powder coated aluminum plate that mounts to the hard top for secure soft storage fitting into the side window dead space just behind the rear seats. And yes the seat belts still work!

We are excited about the launch, especially that they are made here in America and not in a sweat shop in China! Because we are self-funded and working to build our inventory, shipping lead-times can be anywhere from immediate to taking 2-4 weeks. I'm already heading toward 2023 MOORE Expo but stopped in at Jackson, TN to do some commercial work for a fantastic Mexican restaurant , Tulum fresh Mexican Grill whose tacos I have been enjoying for years.. But their Union Drive location also has a full bar, and yes, the drinks are tasty...

Anyway, if you are into overlanding you need to make it to Moore Expo. it's a cool event thats laid back and fun to camp at as well. A lot of vendors this year! I had a blast last year and will be there again this year in the StoryTeller area as well as the Hatchet Overland booth, so hit me up if you are there. IF you aren't there, well... like why not?

WYBDR Section 2 (68 miles + 6.5 mile up and back to Kennedy Peak + 8 mile Expert section) Post 3
Travel date: August 22, 2022

We left camp and drove the 6.5 mile trail up to Kennaday Peak, elevation 10,810 feet. The drive was beautiful and the views from the top of the peak were epic! It didn’t hurt that we had perfect weather, too. This is an optional excursion off of Section 2 of the WYBDR, but it is an easy ride and it’s totally worth the time for the reward of 360 degree panoramic scenery from the top.

WYBDR Section 2 (68 miles + 6.5 mile up and back to Kennedy Peak + 8 mile Expert section) Post 2
Travel date: August 21-22, 2022

On the north end of Section 2 we found the perfect campsite at the foot of the 6.5 mile trail that leads to Kennaday Peak. Since it was late afternoon we decided to settle in for the night to enjoy the evening and breakfast the next morning before heading up to the overlook. The weather was cool, but perfect.

Many wonder where in the world have we been? Why no new videos? I mean, seriously it’s been over a month now since the last installation of the Wyoming series…

Well, hopefully these pictures explain a little bit.. a video coming soon will explain in more detail!

1. Almost 3 weeks filming as an actor in Atlanta
2. Lots of work on our garden including building a raised bed, trimming blueberry bushes, heavily trimming a fruit tree.
3. Moving water containers to other buildings and connecting them to the gutters. This allows for watering of the garden without using well water.
4. Cleaning up the acre+ of yard that has been ignored, oh, well since before the leaves fell..
5. And am almost finished putting together a geodesic dome we plan to use as a greenhouse.. been a while since I put it together and it’s not small…

Never fear I am getting back on track and will have another video out soon!! Spring doesn’t wait and we are going to have a big garden (fingers crossed) this year. Possibly chickens if I can find the inner carpenter in me to build a coop.. (like really deeply buried inner carpenter)

Whew.. makes me tired to type it!!
