Just finished the permitting process for our May Smoky Mountains trip. Gonna try something different on this one. Instead of a 6 day loop in the backcountry, we are combining 2, 3 day loops. We just got back from a week in the Smoky Mountains. I was testing some cameras and equipment for the upcoming season. I put together a short video of our last day in the backcountry. We left out of the Road to Nowhere trailhead just outside of Bryson City and camped at one of my favorite sites in the Park, site #75 on Bear Creek.

Looks like our next adventure will be a return trip to the southern portion of the Smoky Mountains National Park. I did a camera test hike to that area last year, but never posted the video. That section interests me because of its history, lots of old homesteads and ghost towns. We will be leaving in a couple of weeks.
