💜 Set Boundaries; No asking for snacks 30 minutes before bedtime
💙 Give Rewards; after doing chores, reward with fun activity, screen time or treat
💚 Keep it fun; turn chores into games, homework into song, road trip games
💛 Give them privacy; keeping their age in mind, its ok for kids to have privacy
🧡 Let the kids explore; new clothes is a prerequisite to explore new dirty muddy places... we have detergent.

Happy New Year! This saying used to puzzle me, but now I understand that it is the New Generation that is in the cradle and they are the Future!

So, it is in our hands, the parents of this new generation, that will influence and rule the world.... No pressure, just our whole future and the fate of the world.

(15+ Years ago) I used to get mad and yell and even s***k if my kids would spill juice. Now I understand it's just an accident. Now I just tell them to clean it up and I give them the choice if they want to try again or if they want me to serve them juice. I don't punish them anymore for accidents.

Same for learning; I used to yell and punish my kids for "not knowing". Now I understand that they have different learning styles and I have to adjust to their learning style.

I was not a gentle parent with my 2 oldest children. I know better now, and I am doing better today and tomorrow I will learn more.

Hollywood has a way of making a natural birth look like an emergency and as painful as possible. In reality, the more calm, peaceful and informed the mother and her birth team are, the less pain and serene birth can be. Don't get me wrong, birth is painful but in a calm environment, the pain can be managed naturally.

A scheduled cesarean birth can also be calm, peaceful and beautiful as well.
