Bob Dumas is a former morning radio show personality, self-proclaimed salsa connoisseur, founder of the pediatric brain tumor non-profit "Bob's Buddies," and current co-host of The Bob and Lu Show comedy podcast. Dumas’s radio career began in the early 90’s with his first morning show, “The Bob and Mike Show.” This program would later be reworked and renamed “The Showgram With Bob and Madison.”
Dumas rose to prominence in the mid 90’s with his hit morning show, “Bob and The Showgram,” which aired weekdays on the WDCG G105 station. The program attracted a massive listener base, known for outrageous stunts, attention-grabbing antics, brutally honest interviews, and witty on-air dialogue between co-hosts. The Showgram’s success would establish Dumas as a morning radio icon, airing as a top-rated segment for over 27 years in the Raleigh-Durham metro of North Carolina until Dumas’s release from the station in 2019. Dumas survived brain cancer after a 2007 diagnosis, later founding Bob’s Buddies, a charity benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. An avid supporter of pediatric brain tumor research, Dumas has raised over half a million dollars through fundraising efforts. He has also led a number of other philanthropic endeavors, including disaster relief during Hurricane Katrina, fundraisers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and efforts providing assistance to local law enforcement. The up and coming salsa brand would enjoy short-lived success and growth in local markets until 2014, when Bob and his wife would voluntarily lay their salsa making spoons down. Dumas recently launched his podcast, “The Bob and Lu Show,” alongside his wife Lu. The dynamic duo narrate comical, candid conversations on marriage, family, and life after radio, releasing new episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
