It’s official. I graduated from college!

I have waited so long to say those words.

Within my first week of college I was asked to film a friends’ wedding. Videography was not even on my radar as a potential career. I was a hobbies at best. But I said yes.

Months later I was asked to film another wedding and then another. I loved it! Filming weddings was never something I felt called into, but it was clear from the beginning that it was going to become more than a passion for me.

Many people suggested that I should drop out of school to pursue wedding videography full-time. Although I understand where they were coming from, it never felt right. I knew I wanted to finish my degree.

I was fearful that couples wouldn’t want to book a college student, full time videographers would surpass me, or that I wouldn’t be able to maintain friendships in school when I was traveling every weekend.

God is so much greater than our fears. He didn’t have to allow my business to prosper in a time where on paper it shouldn’t have. But He did. If you get anything from this post, know that God has a plan for your life and if it’s not good, He’s not finished.

For the past four years, work-life balance has been one of my greatest goals. It was not always easy. I would go months and months without a single day off. But I prioritized my relationships and managed my time in a way that worked for me. My friends fought for our friendships and have supported me in ways you wouldn’t believe. My family calls me after every wedding to ask how it went. My clients send me good luck texts before finals. I am so beyond grateful.

Although it was hard, the past four years hold the dearest memories of my life. Sneaking out of class to answer client consultation calls, taking 5am flights to make it home for church services with friends, and watching myself fall in love with a career I didn’t know existed. Each moment has not been taken for granted.

Thank you for joining me for this wild journey! I am officially full time!!!

At just 15 years old, Katy wrote the sweetest letter to her future husband. She wrote about what qualities he would hold and about her dream wedding day. Yesterday, Grant got to read that letter just hours before he married his bride! Katy and Grant’s wedding was perfect in every way from the details to the sentiments spoken over them. Listen up ladies and gents!! I want to take some time to recognize the INCREDIBLE grooms I get to work with!!⁣

These men do not get nearly enough recognition for their upbeat attitudes, selfless character, and endless patience during posing for ALLLLLL the wedding pictures and videos! ⁣
⁣
9 times out of 10 it’s the brides that book photo and video and I’m well aware that not every groom I work with is dying to spend 30 minutes of their reception filming portraits! But THEY DO IT WITH SMILE ON THEIR FACE EVERY TIME!!⁣

We all know brides are rockstars too, but I wanted to specifically point out the awesome grooms that I get to work with at each wedding!!⁣

Hi, I’m Lucy! I’ve been recording memories with my camera since I was a little girl. I am a Kansas grown college student living in Lawrence, Ks. My passion for videography drives me creatively and gives me an outlet to love people and explore the world . Getting to serve my clients and celebrate abundant life stems from my love for Christ. I enjoy capturing His creation and joy through my lens. Creating films is what I feel I was born to do.

I am the youngest of four girls raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. Having only sisters is just as fun as it seems! I am so blessed to gain wisdom from each of them. I loved growing up in a small town and knowing every kid in my school by name. However, there were days where it seemed like there was nothing to do. This is where my love of videography was born! From the age of eight you could find me making short films on imovie all day long. Years later, I still have that passion. There have been so many incredible life moments for my family like the birth of my niece and nephew, traveling Europe, gender reveals etc, that have developed this from a passion to a business. The second I finished finished filming my first wedding, I knew this was what I was meant to do! I could not be more passionate about my dream job! I love capturing moments that create memories for a lifetime. It is priceless for me to know that these films will live on for generations not only for my family but for yours.

Today you could find me in the front row of any KU basketball game, the local library editing, or maybe at a bible study with my friends. I am the definition of a 3w2 on the enneagram. AKA I am very driven by my goals and I love relationships. I’m a sucker for a good rom-com, a day at Table Rock Lake, or going on a walk with my friends. I love chick-fil-a more than anyone I know and I’m a self proclaimed professional chocolate chip cookie maker- ask my family. I thrive in social situations but I can definitely appreciate my alone time. My love of people and relationships is what makes my job so special. Capturing peoples’ most precious memories for them to look back on for the years to come- talk about a dream job!!
