Sorry, folks a new open call won’t be happening at this time. We have several in-house/personal projects on the go. Having an open call is a huge job for (mostly) one person. Besides the usual work and ‘things’ to deal with, there is now the additional task of weeding out AI generated ‘writing’.

We hope to invite writers to a new project at some point, but initially that may be local and/or collaborative.

Please continue to support independent publishers. Buy their books and zines. Spread the word. Send them your work.

Sometime this summer we hope to open a new project or revive an old one with changes (Frost Zone Zine) - TBD.

Meanwhile, although the online zine is no more, there are still digital issues available here at no cost. Go ahead and read those stories and poems then follow the links in the author bios to see more of their work!

Writers, if you are keeping track of the numbers for the Handmade Horror (Stories) anthology: do not let the % of accepted vs. declined numbers shown on the subs tracker discourage you! Many pieces are being decided upon. Pieces that are definitely not a fit are declined as quickly as possible. The majority of acceptances will happen closer to/and after the deadline of April 28. 👻💀👹👽☠️
