Sometimes when I’m hurt, I can even feel ashamed for having loved someone. But then I think about Jesus and how He loved, and I remember to keep my eyes fixed on Him, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. It’s hard to accept sometimes that God can love someone who has hurt us: That He can want them to repent and come home. (Jonah 3:10 – 4:4). But when I look at my children, I understand. When I look in the mirror, I am grateful. www.thegospelaccordingtomum.podbean.com

I’ve often told my kids that no matter what, they have to tell me truthfully when they’ve done something wrong. Why? Not so that I can mete out the appropriate punishment. It’s because unless I know the truth, I can’t help them. That’s a mother’s heart. So, why not trust Jesus? God is the best parent you could imagine and even more. Unfaithfulness is an action of the heart. What is so destructive in the context of marriage is equally destructive to our relationship with God Himself. But God is always faithful to us. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you again (James 4:8). Anne-Maree Choi shares her personal experience of both the destructive power of unfaithfulness and the majestic power of God's redemptive faithfulness in Episode 18, available this Wednesday at www.thegospelaccordingtomum.podbean.com

Sometimes the day is so busy, I talk to my husband as we fly past each other. Later we find time to talk properly, but we check in all through the day so we stay connected until then. Ruth Bell-Graham used to put her Bible somewhere she could read it as she flew past, for the same reason: To stay connected. If this is you at church, then you don’t need to be embarrassed or ashamed anymore! We are meant to believe and THEN SEEK GOD for the rest of our lives! Any actual Christian will never think less of you for doing that. Go and find a lovely, faithful follower with a few years under their belt, and ask every single question you can think of. It's worth any shred of dignity we have to get to know our Heavenly Father, (He'll give it back to you) and you will bless the other person too! Please share this sentiment within your church!🙏 www.thegospelaccordingtomum.com
