The Time Is Now

Jesus the Messiah was long awaited not only by the Jewish nation but by every nation. The woman at the well knew that the Anointed One was coming and that he would reveal what they needed to know. Jesus, revealing his true identity, disclosed to this woman what he had only revealed to a few before. He was the one they had been awaiting. What a beautiful gift this was to her—and to us today.

There is no need to wait a moment longer to experience the all-consuming love of Christ. He has more comfort with which to wrap you up than you can imagine. His peace passes all understanding. His joy is deep, like a spring-fed lake that is always receiving fresh water. Consider what you have been waiting for, and let today be the day you let yourself receive the abundance of Christ’s kingdom right here and now. He is the perfect portion we are looking for. He has more than enough grace to infuse our lives. Today is all we have. This moment is our invitation to receive what God offers.

Messiah, unveil the eyes of my heart to see you here and now, right where I am.

I Hear His Whisper...Be infused with my divine strength.

Even as the nations tremble and rage, my peace will grow sweeter as the days will grow darker. Hear my invitation and see the opened door. I am the Father you need. I stand with arms open, waiting to embrace you and hold you safe. Your love for me must not wait or linger outside. Come close to me and never yield to the multitudes of distractions all around you. Your love for me will bring you into my cloud-filled chamber. And when you have come into the splendor of my glory, abide with me.

Though you are weak and weary, you will soon arise with Spirit-Wind. Your praises will cause you to soar. Your time alone with me will infuse you with strength, because my joy will become yours. My love can encourage you in ways you’ve never known. Stay in my presence. Hold fast to what you have been given. A new passion for me is rising in your heart, and no one can take it from you. All is good in my presence.

All throughout Scripture, we encounter God working in the lives of his kids in a place most of us would rather avoid: the wilderness.

Near the beginning of our story, God goes with Adam and Eve as they leave Eden for the wilderness (Gen. 3–4). Abraham’s first steps into his legacy call him directly into the wilderness (Gen. 12, 22). On more than one occasion, God rescues Hagar and Ishmael in the wilderness (Gen. 16, 21). Jacob wrestles with God and receives a new name in the wilderness (Gen. 28–32).

Moses acquires the skills to shepherd the people of Israel in the wilderness (Ex. 2–4). Israel’s entry into the Promised Land is first preceded by 40 years in the wilderness (Ex– Deut). Elijah experiences the miraculous provision of God in the wilderness (1 Kgs 17–19). And David is made ready for the throne in the wilderness (1 Sam. 22–30).

These wilderness workings of God are not merely contained to the Old Testament, but pour forth into the very places Jesus and the disciples walked. John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus, was raised in the wilderness (Luke 1:80). After his miraculous transformation on the way to Damascus, Paul spent the next three years being shaped by God in Arabia, in the wilderness (Gal. 1:15–18). John received the book of Revelation while exiled in a wilderness of isolation (Rev. 1:9). Even Jesus himself, immediately after his baptism, was led by the Spirit of God into, you guessed it, the wilderness (Matt. 4:1).

In the Bible, the wilderness isn’t just a location. It’s a spiritual battleground. It is a place of stripping, sharpening, and sometimes even silence. It’s uninhabited and unpredictable, filled with a million unknowns that remind us that we are not in control...

I Hear His Whisper...Listen to my living words.

Let the light of my wisdom fill your thoughts as you open up your heart before me today. Will you trust that my insights are sufficient to train you in a life of wisdom? My understanding is unmatched. Nothing goes overlooked in my sight. I see what others miss. No one on earth has full revelation of the details of all creation. I can read hearts like you read books. Will you let me into your heart? I offer you perfect peace in every circumstance, and I will never change my mind.

Lean on my unfailing love as I lead you through the darkness of moonless nights. Hold on to me as I guide you. Listen for my voice, and you will always know which way to turn. I will not let you be lost. I know what I’m doing, and I know how to get you through every difficulty. I have not made my pathway an obstacle course, though you will have to trust me and lean on me when the path gets rough. Depend on my loyal love, no matter what, and you will see goodness in every single season.

Is The Passion Translation® a word-for-word or thought-for-thought Bible translation? 📖

The answer: it’s neither—and both.
TPT follows an essential equivalence approach, seeking to faithfully express the meaning and emotion of God’s Word rather than strictly mirroring its form.

The goal? To help modern readers encounter the same life, love, and power the original audience experienced.
Watch as Brian Simmons and David Housholder share the heart behind those choices—and why they matter for bringing Scripture’s meaning to life today.

Encounter God in Prayer…Faith

Lord, teach me to rest. I relinquish my cares, my worries, my anxieties to you. Free me from these limitations of unbelief. Release my soul from the entanglements of fear, so I will no longer be a victim of its torment.

I choose to believe you are the God of restoration. You will use these difficult times to springboard me into something beautiful and amazing. Though I sometimes feel disoriented in this maze of life, you restore my sense of direction. Nothing is too hard for you.

May the desires of my heart honor you. Let faith give me eyes that see. Unite my heart and mind, so my words create substance for me to walk upon. May the mountains of doubt move at my command. Lean in, Lord, hear my cry, and come to my rescue.

I will wait. I will trust. I will believe.

Set Apart

While Noah and the others were shut away in the ark, God was watching. Though they were sealed away in a floating box, God never left. From the day the waters rose until the day they settled on dry ground, the Father’s plan remained intact.

Many of us can relate. We experience times when we feel boxed in and alone. God shuts us in a situation that sucks us dry. The waiting doesn’t make sense. But if we trust his love, we discover that God uses everything for his glory. Our darkened surroundings become illuminated by a single source of light: Jesus, just as the ark’s only light was its solitary window. It’s in these places of confinement, in these boxes, that God prepares us for promotion and power. We cling to him like never before. When we feel alone, he whispers that we have not been set aside but set apart for the blessings he has in store.

Father, in this place of solitude when I feel trapped and unable to move forward, I will embrace you. I will yield the desires of my heart to your cleansing fire.
Purify me. Refine my motives, fine-tune my ideas, and set me on a firm foundation that cannot be shaken.
Here in the stillness, I wait.

If I’m honest, I’ve carried wounds I may never share. Not because I’m hiding, but because speaking them aloud could hurt people I care about. I know I’m not the only one.

Many of us live with quiet pain, the kind we’ve tucked away to keep peace or protect someone else’s heart. We smile through it. We show up. But deep down, there’s a bruise that hasn’t fully healed. One of the greatest dangers of walking wounded is that it can distort how we see God, and more tragically, how we receive his love as a perfect Father.

My friend, Miriam, carried herself with confidence and poise. But the more time we spent together, the more I had a growing instinct to tuck her under my wing. Miriam’s facade of self-assurance hid a wounded soul.

At the bar of my kitchen, she explained that her kids’ father abruptly left them. He was only one in a long line of people who crushed her heart. When other girls her age were concerned about Barbies and baby dolls, Miriam lived in nightly terror. For four years, her cousin violated the boundaries of her innocence. Miriam was abandoned by her parents as a teen and raised by an affluent uncle. At nineteen, she moved out and brought her younger siblings to live with her in a small apartment.

An incident after a night out with friends tore the last pieces of her heart. Though she didn’t date much, Miriam reluctantly accepted a ride from an acquaintance following the event. The man gave her a sedation drug on the way home. Then he abused her, threw her from the car, and left her unconscious on the side of the road. She lay there until a stranger found her. In fact, that’s the way she felt her whole life: abused, unwanted, and alone.

As I listened to the story, the reluctance in Miriam’s relationship with God made sense. Few people had been loyal to her. Leaning over my coffee, I gently assured her that the Lord never abandons his children. He was faithful to heal the wounds if given access to her heart...

I Hear His Whisper...It is important that you find your people.

I want you to surround yourself with people who encourage and support you—those who not only see the gold in you, but call out the hidden treasure. Beloved, you deserve to have people who will walk alongside you to support you, to walk with you through difficulties, and to help make you a better person.

You are worthy of deep and meaningful friendships and mentors. You also have much to share with others. If you are in a place where you don’t feel valued or supported, if you haven’t found your group of like-minded people, ask me for direction. I will lead you to those you’ll love getting to know. I’ll also need you to do your part to step out and interact with them. Don’t neglect the opportunities I place before you. There are seasons when you may feel that no one understands you, seasons when I’ve set you apart in order for you to come away and grow in me. But there are also times for you to dive into community and friendships. It’s time to find your people!
