Join Kristen for some floor f*ckery! This dance workshop outline sexy floor moves and tricks, followed by a juicy choreo. Slutty outfit: essential. Knee pads: also essential. Heels: optional. Sassy attitude: hells yeah! This workshop is all levels, and some dance background will behoove you 😉

We will learn all the individual moves separately, then put them together in a choreography. There will be the option to record your routine at the end.

These days I am consumed with show prep, and by far the most challenging part has been diving back into Ableton Live to rearrange a track that I wrote that I’m dancing to in the show. Learning Live is like a language, if you don’t practice all the time you get rusty. I’ve been producing with .official regularly, but letting him drive the mouse because he’s faster at it… and even though I understand it all, I was pretty upset to realize that I’d lost the nuts and bolts of this program. Struggle town ensued, I’ve come to recognize this as part of the artistic process. Fortunately Michael and have been on speed dial supporting me through this process, as well as YouTube refreshers! I’m reminded how hard it was to start producing in the first place, how only my love of music (and Drew Vespers teaching) got me over the major hump of learning how to do this. If I can learn how to produce, anyone can! Seriously!! Before DJ’ing I was one of the least technologically inclined people I know. On October 21st, magic will be happening at The Waverly in BC!!! I’m so grateful that is hosting my show, the first time I get my very own night at the best venue in town!! Costume theme is GOLD ✨⭐️💛

So stoked to submit our remix for my favourite record label, Mano Mano competition!! .official and I had a great time working with these amazing vocals, and I got to deliver a sweet little piano breakdown as well. This past weekend I had the privilege of remembering what it’s like to really rock a dance floor 🥰 during an epic rain storm, a writhing sweaty mess of bodies squished under the cover we had and everyone RAGEd IT for 3 hours!! I didn’t want to stop, it was the dance floor therapy that we all needed. Many thanks to the organizers of FundeMinto Fest .jolicoeur and Izzy for hosting me, I had an absolute blast 💗. Tonight (yes Monday!) I’m playing a fundraiser for Residential Schools Survivors outdoors alongside my production partner, .official . Admission is on donation, 7-11. This week’s challenge in the is to wear a costume, so I decided to bust out my look. Two weeks ago my body retaliated against the increase in flexibility training. Everything was sore and my sacrum felt inflamed. I did it again, I thought. This is my tendency, to get excited and push too hard. I tend to find my limit by exceeding it through enthusiasm (true to 7 form). After resting and honouring my body’s process, swipe left to see the two-handed version that is more representative of my 🙏 the path forward really is a non-linear dance, and I’m practicing presence by breathing and allowing my backbends to open without pushing too hard. Here’s to the journey 😊💗🙏 I give thanks for this meat suit and all the cool things it can do!!

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Diane Bruni. She taught me my very first yoga class 23 years ago at the first incarnation of and woke a lifelong passion in me. I also took teacher training from her from 1999-2001. She was a powerful force, actively engaged in social activism and at the forefront of yoga innovation in Canada. She influenced many yogis on their path throughout her illustrious career. After a long battle with cancer her soul can now soar. Deepest bows of gratitude for the impact she has had on my personal growth journey 🙏🙏🙏 Rest in power Diane, you will be missed 😭💔⭐️✨🕉

Usually it takes me an hour or two to do a lift (learning music by ear)... but this one has been 6 months in the making. I got obsessed with this song in May and have been picking away at creating an arrangement that I’m happy with ever since. (I’ve also been creating pole choreography and doing my morning free dances to this track because it’s so great 🙏 ) Admittedly my perfectionist tendencies emerge more when it comes to piano, because perfectionism reigned supreme in music school... this isn’t perfect, and therefore an exercise in vulnerability for me. There’s no other sport that has challenged me like pole does 💗not only does it demand massive strength and flexibility (which I train separately), but pole dancing also teaches you how to tap into and unleash your inner sexy. I have been teaching some new polers recently and this has been a revelation for them... you can train sexy, just like anything else! I am stoked to report that I have just joined the Association for Electronic Music! This international non-profit is spearheading a wide-reaching mental health initiative in dance music, among many other ways they are helping the dance music industry to evolve. Some of you may be aware that I’m doing qualitative research into the impact that working in the electronic music industry has on artists and professionals’ mental health. In addition, I’ve also been asked to contribute to a mental health guide to touring and how to stay healthy both during and after. This project is through the Music Industry Therapist Collective out of the UK. I’m feeling honoured to participate and excited to delve further into this niche area of passion of mine, in order to best serve and support those who are suffering with their mental health 💗

I’m deep in my process birthing this show. I had to get the basics together before leaving to go to Ontario for Christmas. Admittedly taking 8 days off the pole is not something I normally do right before a show! But I had my videos with me and did the mental work of reviewing my combos, critiquing them and taking notes. I’m feeling the pre-show excitement nerves, working through the resistance (admittedly after a busy Xmas season I just wanted to chill the f**k out today), but there’s little rest for artists. I keep working on my show, analyzing my mixes, juggling cue points, critiquing my videos and taking more notes. I also second-guess my choices, swear when I mess up a combo and feel frustrated when I go back to the drawing board. I’m listening to my mix when I’m not on the pole, because I get a wee bit obsessive. This is what it takes for me to bring you my best possible show. I’m super duper stoked that my last 2.5 minute finale combo will usher in a new decade!!! I would seriously love if you came to this epic event, there are so many other DJ’s too, you will not be disappointed. It is my greatest honour to present my art to you 🙏💗🙌⭐️🔥💥🍑🎧👏

On Monday we had an experiment at 🙏 as the last class of our 10 week Ashtanga-ish session, we really went for the ish and embraced free form play as a practice. On the whole, adults tend to not play enough (although I’d say my friend group is an exception to this rule). After spending the session on our mats, or in the box so to speak, I encouraged everyone to follow the impulses that arose within them and do exactly what they wanted to do. People danced, did handstands, learned how to climb the pole, I even witness one of my students in his 50s doing the splits mid air in the gymnastic rings!! All in all I feel it was a successful experiment and had positive feedback all around. Would you like to see more of this happening at The Doghouse? Many thanks to those who came to shake it!! Wow you exceeded expectations on all fronts!! It was absolutely incredible to connect with so many likeminded, passionate brilliant musical minds. The theme of the Doghouse right now is Separation and Connection, and conferences are such an amazing way to be reminded that we are all part of a national community of creatives. Both of my mental health and addiction panels were very well received, and it was also a delight to share some on Friday night 🙏 to be seen and celebrated for the gifts that we’ve been given and the skills that we’ve cultivated, this is the ultimate in validation and I’m still vibrating from the magic of this experience 🙏🎶💗
