I just did an exam from home and passed! It was pretty strict, needed we**am and microphone on to make sure I wasnt cheating. But now I'm a Certified Slack Developer.

When working on a side project I've always struggled to decide whether I want my app to be perceived to be run by a big successful company, or truly show that it's a one-person show. I think my fear is around my app not being trusted because it appears as more if a bodge or hack.

This week I was handling customer support tickets and decided to inform the person that the reason I was delayed was due to doing the app on my own, having a full-time job and a young family.

The response I got was both supportive and understanding. Far better than I anticipated and made to job of resolving the issue far more pleasant for both parties. So I will probably start to open up to customers more.

Anyone else had experience with side projects?
