In what has come as no surprise to anyone, Nikon has announced that it will be launching a Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera and new range of Nikkor Lenses. And, also as expected, It looks like the actual launch will be at Nikon's press conference photokina

The new camera will have a new mount, which was almost a certainty given that the Nikon F mount has one of the largest back focus distances of any DSLR.

Nikon will be making a lens adapter for the new camera so that existing F mount lenses can be used. If well implemented this could offer the same AF speeds that Nikon DSLR users are used to on a smaller mirrorless camera.

And that is about it... no hints or specification. No images. No price. No availability date.

NEW CAMERA ALERT!

The Fujifilm UK X-T100 is here. It’s an entry-level mirrorless camera that has the trademark style of Fujifilm’s other X-Series cameras.

We’ll be testing it soon, but here are the key things you need to know:

- It is styled like an SLR, with a central electronic viewfinder, just like X-T2 and X-T20, but, as an entry-level camera, inside it has more in common with the X-A5

- It has a 24.2-million-pixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor, but it uses a standard RGB bayer pattern array, rather than the Fujifilm X-Trans array.

- The sensor provides a sensitivity range of ISO 100-51,200

- It does shoot 4K video, but at just 15fps, so the Full HD video is likely to be used more often.

- The electronic viewfinder has a good resolution of 2.36-million-dots, whilst the 3inch rear screen is also a touchscreen.

- The touchscreen can be articulated round so you can view it from the front for those all important selfies and vlogging.

- As standard the X-T100 will come with the Fujinon XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ kit lens and will be available towards the end of June, priced at £619 in the UK.
