A Message from the Founder: Why Backpack Armor?
I wanted to personally thank you for your interest in BackpackArmor.com and the support of Military, Law Enforcement, everyday Civilians and their families in search of the latest technology and solutions to help keep our loved ones safe 🇺🇲
What started off for me as a small curiosity and research project led to something much bigger. When I recently got back from a month long project filming battle scenes for an upcoming Warner Bros movie, it triggered memories of my previous deployment to Iraq in 2005 and my first experience wearing bulletproof body armor as a 20 year old Marine in a combat zone.
I remember that feeling of strapping on that bulletproof plate carrier everyday in Iraq and feeling a little bit more secure even though I knew it wouldn't make me invincible to bullets like Superman. I started getting that same feeling during the movie shoot strapping on the prop body armor every morning and when the shoot ended, I got that same feeling again of not having it on my body, similar to that feeling of forgetting your smartphone at home. That feeling of anxiety that something felt missing and a deep loss of security taken from you.
When I got home I started looking up plate carriers and researching the latest in body armor and that's when I came across ads on Backpack Armor. Like many of you, I had no idea this was even a thing and had so many questions about these products. After purchasing some Backpack Armor to play around I thought to myself, "why hasn't this become more mainstream as an option for those concerned individuals like myself who choose to actively prepare for worst-case disaster scenarios?"
Like many of you, I didn't have any knowledge on and had no idea these bulletproof armor plates that police officers wear everyday are available to the general public to conceal in their backpacks, available at an affordable price ($100 range), and only weigh a little over 1 lb. I can honestly tell you that I now forget I even have the Backpack Armor in my backpack because of how lightweight and discrete these panels are (half the weight and thickness of my 13" Macbook Pro).
I'm looking forward to reviewing and researching more Backpack Armor solutions and the latest technology trends in this field. For those that are also interested in these solutions and would like to take an active part in backpackarmor.com, feel free to DM me or send over an email to [email protected] and we can chat about collaboration opportunities.
With that I leave you with one of my favorites quotes I heard repeatedly while I served in the Marines and it still drives me today to do whatever I can to protect family, friends, and loved ones 🇺🇲
