Insta v Reality

Kitchen fireplace shots are hard this time of year because there are always clothes drying here but I wouldn’t have it any other way, I love this little working space.

Exposing the rest of the brick here is high on the 2024 list of jobs which I think will completely change the feel of this room, not looking forward to the mess though 🙃

Halfway to Friday team! Can you believe the clocks go back this weekend?! I totally forgot. I’ve been working on a huge party as part of my job which finishes at 2am and when people started asking if 2am really meant 1am or was it actually 3am I had no idea what they were talking about - oops! You can’t even rely on time these days, it must be a bloke in disguise 😝

There’s always been something missing in this space and now it feels complete 🍊

Ad | Orange Valley from is just perfect in this room, it ties all of the other colours together wonderfully but is still bold enough to be the perfect feature. Kate is super lovely and has also given me 15% off to share with you all - use lou15 at checkout.

I’m unrelated but relevant news I’m in desperate need of starting a 2024 calendar. I like a family one so I can separate me, Ryan and birthdays that hangs on the wall - has anyone got any recommendations for cool/stylish calendars?

A flurry of new followers means it’s time for one thing and it’s a little about me 🤗

The first thing you should know is that yes I took myself off to a pumpkin field on my own and had a great time picking pumps, taking pics and snaffling hot chocolate because I see no reason why I shouldn’t!

The second thing you should know about me is that I’m a positive polly. We’re alive, we have choices and we owe it to those that don’t have those privelages to be as positive as we can be, in my humble opinion.

Aside from that
- 35, Cheshire but not the part where the Housewives are
- Co-habiting with Ryan, Sirius and Luna
- First buy, first restoration, almost 2 years in but not the forever home
- I can recite a lot of Shakespeare from memory
- Virgo/Libra cusp if you’re into that kind of thing
- Would prefer never to leave the house but when I do it’s generally a spectacular event which is why you all think I love to party
- Have real ambitions to join the WI one day
- I play a mean game of chess, pool or dominoes
- I believe biscuit tea is the greatest culinary invention of our time
- In another life I should have been a life coach or a psychologist
- I don’t have a food i don’t like but death row meal is 2 dozen oysters, beef tartare, Christmas dinner and skip the pud
- I think Enid Blyton has a lot to answer for, my brain is basically a combination of The Magic Faraway Tree, The Wishing Chair and Mallory Towers

I think that covers key metrics, but any burning questions let me know 😂

Well that’s it I’ve gone, autumn into spooky season and I’m giddy with excitement. I’ve had such a lovely weekend and today I’m going to tackle a bit of DIY and get on with a little shake up to the living room decor.

I’ll pop some more reveals on stories today for the outdoor display but I think I’ve excelled myself 🎃

I’m having sunshine withdrawals already is anyone else’s?! I ordered crisp but sunny not “the world is ending” 😂

Ad | Thank goodness I have these bright and sunny plants from .nl to brighten up my weekend. Kalanchoes are super easy to look after as they’re succulents and thrive all year round, which is just as good cause they ain’t getting much Vitamin D today 😂

You can find them in literally any supermarket, they oxygenate the home really well and also give you a burst of colourful happiness when you need it most 💐

My autumn wreath, handmade by me! I always say I love this time of year because you get all the colours of the rainbow. Things are still alive and blooming, things are dying off and it creates this amazing cacophony of colours that all just work together to make something beautiful.

As always, I went to my Fairy Flowermother for the most wonderful wreath making workshop and she guided me through creating the shape and selecting the right greenery, fresh and dried flowers to have maximum impact but also to last 💐

Blue skies and autumn vibes. This was literally the calm before the storm because it is blowing a hooley out there right now!

Fun fact that I googled, hooley may come from the Orkney Scots 'hoolan', a strong gale, influenced by the Irish use of 'hooley' for a very noisy party 🥸

A shout out for my gallery wall today which is enjoying basking in the autumn sun. We’ve had to have a plant shuffle on the hanging pots because everything loved the window too much and was root bound so it’s time for some new babies to spread their wings in there!

Don’t look too hard at my pile of stationary crap behind my standing desk it’s a working space and I need my stapler 😂

Ad | It’s honestly my favourite time of the year, cold enough to light the fire and snuggle down with a hot chocolate but not yet wet and miserable and still full of gorgeous sunshine. I’ve been getting my maximum autumn on with this gorgeous range from 🍁

We’re back door people so I’ve given what I call my door a glow up with this fabulous wreath, scattered pumpkins around the kitchen fire and had our first hot chocolates of the season to warm up afterwards - there’s even a Lou and Ryan sized mug available with a Sirius on to boot!

LOU-TREAT20 gets you 20% off until 31st October

Nothing beats a blade of sunshine for a burst of energy and nothing hits harder than shutter rays if you ask me 🤩

My mimosa is happily drying out and it’s been replaced by this lovely Forsythia (thanks for the confirmation on the identity 😂)

When does theft become foraging and is it abnormal to keep secateurs in your glove box in case you spot something to “forage” when you’re out and about?! Two questions I am asking for a friend 👀

😱 I’m posting a landscape pic 😱

I just really want to show you as much as I can of the living room though. Things to note

• My Valentine’s Day flowers have dried out perfectly
• We have a plug in heat pad so there’s always a cat or two on that chair
• My spring cushions are so cute
• I need to spend £70 sending my Ikea rug to a rug spa (not made up) because is knobbly and wool and I’ve fallen out with my past self about buying it

What’s your biggest fall out you’ve had with your past self?!

Ad | I’m so excited to show you these gorgeous essential oil candles from 🕯️

The “Focus” and “Calm and De-Stress” are the perfect pair for the office where all of the above is definitely needed, especially on a Monday! I love that these are all hand poured in Manchester so very close to me and I really wish I’d known about the personalised candle offering before last weekend as they would have made the perfect wedding present

How well am I pulling off these Christmas trees as all year round decor?! Genuine question can I get away with it or do they look like decs🙈
