According to forbes 67% of Billionaires are self made. They grew up with little and achieved what they have through hard work. A clear indication that success does not come from genes or DNA but from practice and perserverance honed over decades.
You can be born into wealth and still lose everything. You can be born in hardship and struggle but still refuse to accept that as your reality. You don't decide where you start in life but you will absolutely define where you end up in life.
In 1995 , Elon Musk could not afford to pay fees to fix his old 1978 BMW and so he ended up fixing it himself with old parts from a junk yard. Today Elon Musk is the richest man on earth with a net worth of $225.2 billion which is 4 times more than BMW's market value.
Musk's journey to success was not an easy one. He overcame many obstacles, failures, and adversity to get to where he is today.
In 2013, Musk almost sold Tesla to Google after it hit rock bottom with bug-filled cars, stalled sales, and just two weeks of cash left. Some of his failures have been so catastrophic that just one of them could have been the end of his career. At one point, Musk was fired as PayPal’s CEO while he was on holiday with his family.
In the world of fast foods, people want first things including fast money without going through challenges. You need to go through the challenges to make you stronger for challenges ahead. Show me a man who has no challenges, I will show you a man who hasn't achieved anything.
Quit saying others are talented or more privileged than you. Talent doesn't equal achievement. Infact you can have all the talent in the world but if your mind isn't right, you will never be great. If you are a talented guy who refuses to put in the work, it's just a matter of time before someone hungrier eats you alive.
