Someone just ran a red light crossing in front of us as the car in front of me proceeded in the intersection. I usually turn my music down at red lights but this time was different on my way to work. The light turned green as I reached for the k**b so I left it blasting.
Then midway through the turn the red SUV in front of me stopped abruptly as a white pick-up truck zoomed through across the intersection. I was reminded instantly beyond waking up this morning that God still wants me here.

Can you tag a black / black identifying Fashion Designers in Fairbanks please? Even if you customize garments that’s still designing. I’ll start in the comments.
Ruth (Alyssa Quintyne) is beyond tired and Walter Jr. (Willie Blackburn) just won't stop talking about the insurance money! Beneatha (Zaniyah Chestnut) wants nothing but to read her morning paper in peace.
Can we take a moment to applaud Jas Stokes for the lighting design? The original play was set in the 1950s but Director and Actress Diane "Bunny" Fleeks made the directorial decision to move the story into the following decade creating the perfect mood for these photographs.
Tonight (May 10) is the final Friday to catch Fairbanks Drama Association's production of "A Raisin in the Sun". Showtime is 7:30 PM

I am absolutely grateful for God’s grace I continue to experience while being in Alaska. The silent prayers, blows by hidden hands, and outright disassociation has been stretching my faith.
I’m so grateful for the community in the Golden Heart City and the support I’ve received here. I’m clearing my desk at the news station this week to make room for what God has next for me.
Just wanted to share some joy this morning after yesterday’s evening nap!

Because Marquita Toney has me feeling like African royalty with these braids for the 2024 Mrs Alaska and Miss Alaska For America Pageant.
Carmen Mosnia - Hodge, blessings to you for the last minute tailoring to this Zoot Suit blazer I found at Value Village and changing out the buttons so it’d look double breasted! (I chose sunflowers because they remind me of Kasey Carlton. How befitting to post this today because May 1st was here favorite day😅)
Thank you again for the love Tresha Briggs Nash for going through your closest and sponsoring my gowns 🫶🏾 is always my goal!
Also, due to a last minute hair emergency I had to pull out the old school sewing skills. Who needs a half wig made? (Unserious inquiries only 🤣) Shout out Leeza Avery of Glam Strands (glamstrands.net) for having on-hand affordable bundles for the install.
I found these vintage clip-on earrings at Roxy's 2nd Hand.@
Alaska has presented many opportunities for me to express my curiosity, creativity, and artistry in many ways and I’m grateful!
I’m honored to have had the opportunity to be Set Decorator for Fairbanks Drama Association’s presentation of A Raisin in the Sun. Go see it this weekend or next. I even had the pleasure of capturing and editing these photos for the set.
Mama (Diana “Bunny” Fleeks) is wearing one of my costume pieces. 😍

Hey y’all hey, I’M Jameka Lache!
It’s interview day for .
Good morning from Brooklyn, “it’s interview day how are you feeling? You’ll do great, don’t stress!”
Girl, at this point I’m just going to go downstairs and do the best with what I got.🤣
This weekend is so special to have my first best friend (in spirit), oldest best friend and my newest support in person. I GET TO REPRESENT why the significance of LACHE matters! Over the years, I’ve adopted a best friend from each duty station as a military child and maintaining those relationships into adulthood is simply a blessing! I’m looking forward to making more connections with my fellow pageant semi-finalists while I’m in the for America.
Links are in bio to vote me for Fabulous Face. Proceeds go to the project!
Hey y’all hey, its Jameka Lache;
I wanted to shoutout one of my MANY sponsor on this 2024 Mrs Alaska and Miss Alaska For America Pageant journey! This Saturday along with over 29 contestants will be sharing their journey! This sponsor here is more than just my mother she is a Wounded Warrior but by here demeanor you’d never be able to tell. Matoka C. Horton is a high-school basketball hall-of-famer, midwife, flight medic, a medical instructor, possibly the FIRST African American Female station commander recruiter in Fairbanks, Ak, federal service member of 35+ years. She ended her enlisted career as a Sergeant First Class then continued educating soldiers on their coverage eligibility and now serves Health Coordinator for the Atlanta, GA Veteran Affairs area. Although she has lead many, she is not Wonder Woman. She is a the truest definition of a Wonder Warrior! I love you and I salute you!
Her service made me aware of many different cultures and needs that some don’t realize are available.
Your vote for me Fabulous face helps support the provide more resources to those that have served our country.
