My heart is indeed full of gratitude, appreciation and thanksgiving for all God has done and is doing.

As I reflect on the past year, I am humbled by God's grace that has abounded towards me in no small measure. Indeed God is too faithful to fail, He's proven Himself in my life and I have come to realize He's too faithful to fail me.

You can make the decision to live your life to its fullest potential and achieve your dreams; to do that, you have to reject mediocrity.

Mediocrity is unavoidable if you stay within your comfort zone.

When you play it safe, it’ll lead to a life less than what you want because you don’t take any risks, you don’t challenge yourself, and you skip out on the lessons you learn from failing.

A Fela Durotoye Certified Executive Coach 👩‍💼

Bola Matel-Okoh is an Attorney with over 30 years’ experience in diverse areas of judicial science. She holds a LL. B (Hons) degree in law from The Olabisi Onabanjo University and is admitted to The Nigerian Bar as well as the New York State Bar.

In 2015 she was appointed as a Non- Executive Director of Wema Bank PLC. She is well trained in the effectiveness of corporate boards, risk management and advanced strategy for directors. She has attended training seminars at IMD in Lausanne Switzerland, INSEAD in Fontainebleau France as well as Harvard Business School in Boston USA.

Today she is the CEO of Havilah Ventures an entrepreneurial outfit which encompasses businesses in real estate, corporate branding and the health and wellness sector. She is the owner and Managing Director of N Lounge and Spa, where excellent customer service and satisfaction are of paramount importance.

Abolanle is also the Associate Pastor at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, New Jersey. Pastor B as she is fondly called is a woman of great passion and tenacious spirit.

Disappointments happen. You’re sad, unmotivated, hurt and sometimes you’re just tired to even continue. Does this sound familiar?… I can relate How is best to cope with disappointments? - Take a moment to let it out. One of the proven ways to heal from disappointment is not to pretend that it didn’t happen. If you need to cry, talk to someone, be sad for a moment, and give yourself the time to absorb how you feel. Accept how you feel - Don’t be NEGATIVE: After absorbing your disappointment, you need to sh*t out all negative thoughts. “Things never work out for me”, “why is it only me” and “are my village people following me” are negative thoughts that you shouldn’t allow to penetrate your mind. Shut out all negatives! - Learn from your disappointments. Learn valuable lessons from the situation of that disappointment. You might get more answers and more understanding of what happened and use this discovery to turn things around. - Know that disappointments happen when you step outside your COMFORT zone. Looking at it, disappointment comes most times, because you decided to step outside your limitations. You want to achieve more, you want to grow from what you are, which is amazing. So give yourself some credit, soak it in, and try again Watch out for part 2 of this series “How to deal with disappointment” next week. I pray that you experience a turnaround in every form of disappointment you’re feeling right now, in the name of Jesus.
