"Quality time with people and hearing other people's stories is really important for me. I spend a lot of time as a life coach. I spend most of my time hearing other people's stories and just asking questions and letting them tell their stories. The idea of being a cheap story shaper is I don't write your story, I just help you to curate it so that it makes more sense and hits the mark better. And I find that fascinating. I love hearing other people's stories, but you're always learning. And I've spent 20 years immersing myself or actually more than 20 years immersing myself in trying to understand the human condition. And no matter how much I learn, I just realised I know almost nothing and it makes you feel very small and makes you really excited about the world, at the same time" @eugoogly @astrongernarrative

"I think the human condition is ultimately all about two things identity and the way that we relate to other people. So it's who we are and understanding who we are and then understanding who other people are, and that helps us connect better. I'm not sure that we're particularly good at it. I think that a lot of what's happening in society is breaking that apart. And I have a real passion for helping to patch that together and teach people how to connect better." @eugoogly @astrongernarrative

"One of the things I do love about journals is that it gives you an insight into the growth that you've had and how we've evolved as humans. And it helps me to have more Grace for myself to go. I'm a work in progress, but others are also a work in progress. So the really toxic person who you're dealing with today, they're probably going to mellow out in a little while. So, do you have hope for them? Because then you can just sit it out and they'll be great in five years' time." @eugoogly @astrongernarrative

"We actually have so much power and capacity to set the tone of the conversations and the relationships and the communities around us that often we don't realise we walk into a community wherever that might be at work or school or uni or basketball team, whatever. We take culture for granted and we might kind of second guess our capacity to influence it or to have a say in the way that we build that. And we don't have to be super intense about that all the time. But I think what we can do is recognise that actually, every person has different gifts and like, a different flavour that they add to the conversation. And when we kind of walk into a space and we can kind of lean into and own the flavour that we bring and know what that is and have some intention with that, then, yeah, we actually have so much capacity to just season those communities, to take the metaphor like, a step further." @jayden.battey

"But if I take the narrative view that I am a work in progress, that I am worth getting to know that I do have inherent value, that I am becoming something beautiful, even if I don't always necessarily feel it, then this process matters now and today matters now, and I have value now. And so if that is the truth for myself, then I have to have to apply that to the people that I encounter."@johnepoetry @johnenglezos

"I actually think recovery is a creative act in and of itself. If you can wake up one morning and think of somewhere you want to be, somewhere you want to go, a person like how you want to transform yourself, that process, that's thinking of something that doesn't exist yet, we're imagining a future. And so in itself, that is a creative act, and you're exercising your inner artist to find the will to move forward or live another day or pick yourself back up again when you've collaborated or you've been knocked down."@livedexperienceconsultant

"I think there's so much information in the world right now and maybe even more than we're able to process. We have so much available at our fingertips on our devices and there are so many competing demands on our attention that it actually is so easy for our whole lives to just be a product of competing demands on us. And it feels like so little of the time we get to set the agenda on our own lives. Now, I'm not a control freak and I don't feel the need to kind of have control over every element of my life, but one thing I don't want to do is live a life and get to the end of it and think that was all like an accident and I didn't take the opportunity to steal the course at all. And so kind of the things I thought would be meaningful, I lost that along the way because of so many distractions." @jayden.battey

"I'm no stranger to mental health challenges. I've been through many valleys and many high points as well. I think one of the things that I felt when I was going through my own challenges, was that people are actually really uncomfortable watching someone else in distress and they want to do whatever they can to get rid of the distress, to fix it all, to take it away and to resolve the situation." "Leadership now, for me, has been something at the forefront of my mind, thinking, well, it doesn't look like it used to look. And so the past couple of years have been challenging for everybody, but I think coming out of the actual pandemic, I'm realising how much we actually have to change moving into our future." @helen.parker_

"Relationships are difficult at the best of times. We live in this incredibly fragmented society and people really long for a deep sense of community and deep, knowing relationships. Everyone has that kind of innate desire to know people and to really see them and also to be known or to be seen." @jayden.battey
