1. It makes your virtual📽 event looks more grand.
2. Bantering between two experienced emcees can be fun to watch. Especially on screen.🖥
3. You can tap on the different talents from both emcees.
My co-host,Terrence Yang, can dance🕺 very well while I can sing👩‍🎤 very well.
4. It offers your audience more opportunities and points to comment👄 on the comment section of your virtual event. Yes! The higher the numbers of comment✍, the higher the viewerships and interactions!

I was told a few months ago that I will be the official host for the 'Singapore Hawker Culture Webinar Series' organised by the
I was excited and I naively thought that it will just be a webinar explaining where our favourite laksa, chilli crab or hokkein mee are from. 🤣

But no no. I have learned about:

1. Gastro political encounters & diplomacy.
2. Hawker Heritage Stories.
3. The sociology of food, politics and heritage-making.
(Sociology was my favourite module when I was in uni!!😃😃)
4. The evolving Kopitiam as metaphor for multicultural Singapore!!

Yupz! That's the beauty of my job. I'm constantly learning and yes I miss sociology so much! 😊😊

It was a year ago when I first stepped into Geylang Serai Community Club virtual studio. I remembered it was quiet. The loom of the C-word had hit us but not the lockdown yet. I only had one goal in mind then which was to host and produce the content of an infotainment program for their platform audiences. With their full support, we pioneered 'Prime Time with Sylvia Tham'.

A year on from then as we slowly stepped into the recovery of the C-word, I'm back in the studio again. This time round I'm doing my part to host and produce the content of another infotainment program. A 10 part series on 'The Singapore Budget 2021: What you need to know & how can it help you?'

NParks launched an initiative called "Gardening with Edibles".

I never understood the rationale of growing your own produce👨‍🌾👩‍🌾. Not until I hosted a zoom virtual event: 'Happy Seedling'🌱.

I mean we have supermarkets🛒 that is within a stone throw and it's always stocked to the brink every other day right? Why go through all the hassle? 🤯

I learned that during the coronavirus pandemic, food security has been thrust into the spotlight🔦. Especially so when we see Singapore went into several bouts of panic🚨🚨 buying last year. There is a greater urgency to produce 30% of Singapore's nutritional needs locally by 2030!!

After hosting a week of conferences and dressing up like an O.L, I could finally donned on a flight attendant's uniform!! 🤣🤣

The theme of this virtual dinner and dance is 'Take Flight'✈ and my handsome co-host/Captain is the client!

I'm so glad that I'm able to wear that dainty and 'movement restricted' stewardess's uniform because I can never do so in a physical dnd!

It was ‘International Women's Day’♀️ (March 8) yesterday.

I had the opportunity to host/emceed ‘Conversations on Singapore Women’s Development’ dialogue session with Minister Josephine Teo.

This conversation is a national effort to understand Singaporeans’🇸🇬 aspirations and ideas on how we can further advance our women in Singapore. Feedback and recommendations from these sessions will be consolidated and submitted to the Government in the form of White Paper.📃

I am in a male-dominated event’s industry therefore this conversation is extremely close to heart❤ for me. We had ladies from diverse backgrounds, and we spoke about salary difference between genders, the barriers women faced in their career ladder and better support for working mother. We realized that most of the time it lies with the societal mindset.

I stand in unison with Minister Chan Chun Sing when he said that 'Startups play a critical role in our economy.' It will not only spark innovation but also create job opportunities.

I applaud Enterprise Singapore 's 'Startup SG Founder IGNITE' hybrid event which I emcee'd yesterday. They helped new entrepreneurs get their foot off the ground with the most pressing issues like startup capital and mentorship!

This will greatly groom a pipeline of home grown entrepreneurs who will then create job opportunities for Singapore! Way to go!!! 👏👏👏
