Out of all the ways we have wondered around America the past 3 years (bus, van, airstream) this is our favorite method so far

The ability to be able to settle in, unhook and go explore in the truck really brings a sense of freedom for us
-
Plus the ability to leave the girls in the airstream while we are out adventuring all day and not having to pack up our home and leave every time we need to run an errand is clutch

Before bus life, van life, airstreams, and jay, basketball was my whole world. From the time I was in second grade, it was my obsession. It guided the way for almost everything in my life. It led me to where I went to college, it led me to playing overseas, and it led me to jay.
-
In 2017 I played my last game. People would ask me if I missed it and I genuinely did not. It confused me, but I always just played it off and thought maybe it was because we had won the championship and I felt content. But, ever since it's been over I've actually felt pretty lost in life and I never understood why.
-
Triathlon is a funny sport. I fu***ng hated it at first to be honest. I only picked it up because Jay was doing it and I thought, "whelp, I might as well give it a shot since I'm here anyways." The thing with triathlon is it's 100% on you, and you have a lot of time during your training to think about things. It's given me the time and space to process that losing basketball is why I've felt so lost. It's given me time to grieve the loss of my old life and find my way in this new one.

I'm still pretty bad at triathlon. When I compete in the ironman next week, I'm just trying to survive/finish. But, I love how I can feel my body getting stronger with every workout and how the only person I'm competing with is myself.

No matter what happens next week, I'm just extremely grateful to triathlon for bringing me so much clarity and making me feel whole again❤️

I’ve trained my ass off the last 2 years for this exact moment!! 🏊🏻2.4 mile swim, 🚴🏼112 mile bike ride and then 🏃🏻‍♂️26.2 mile marathon!! Ironman California was the hardest race I’ve ever done. My aim was to finish in under 10 hours and finish top 3 in my age group 😖

It's been a lot of fun looking back over the last year and seeing how far we've come with this airstream build. This was one heck of a challenge and there were times we didn't think we'd be able to pull it off. Multiple times. But, I'm glad we stuck around and saw it through :)

At 2:30 today, an electrical fire destroyed my childhood home 🥺💔

Although quite shake up, every human is okay! My mom was able to get my 1 year old niece out, and get all but one of our animals to safety in time. She tried risking her life to go back in and save her cat, but luckily our amazing neighbor came to the rescue and stopped her. I'm not sure what would have happened if that neighbor wasn't there. My dad was at work when the fire happened.

Unfortunately, one cat, Velma, was trapped inside the room where the fire was the worst. Although almost everything in that room is completely destroyed, she somehow miraculously survived the fire, but she has suffered major injuries from it. My sister took her to the vet right away, and they told her she has a chance at surviving, but at a great cost. My sister was able to put the deposit down and they took her in for care for the night.

We’ve got the power people🔋🔌 This means the airstream is just about finished. A couple of finishing touches and we will be moving in. Lots of exciting things we plan to do with this airstream after we move in but more on that later😋

The airstream will have a total of .lithium 560ah. These batteries are awesome as they are just about the same footprint (1 inch longer) as a stand alone 100ah battery but 1.6x the capacity🤯

Let’s be real, I think most of us prefer to pull up to a planet fitness for an endless hot shower instead or a crammed military shower in your van or skoolie

But this shower set up is a great option over a typical fixed 24x32 bathroom. Just attach the pop up shower curtain to the ceiling and you got yourself a shower in a van

Got some exciting races planned for the year 2023! Some smaller local races, a couple of 70.3 triathlons and then the a full ironman towards the end of the season. Even someone managed to rope Kelsey in to it aswell 😁
