Solomon Islands 2024
Was an awesome experience to see the way these guys operate, it’s hard to explain their knowledge of the ocean. The first day we went out to a reef roughly 20nm offshore in the small banana boat with no sounder or GPS, after about 2 hours Jimmy says “we’re here” I’m thinking yeah right… sure enough look over the side of the boat to see one of the most colourful reefs only about 7m deep with a ledge on the side that dropped off to roughly 1000m according to Navionics on my phone… I said how do you know how to get to this specific sea mount when you can’t see land or no GPS he replied “I just know by the feel of the waves”

To experience this and for Jimmy (and the other guides) to always pull up in specific spots and always manage to pull fish off the spots and for them to know the species on each spot without “marks” or a sounder was pretty mind blowing considering how much we rely on electronics while fishing back at home.

The hospitality at was next to none always amazing meals and looking after us especially when the flight got cancelled and we had no way off the island. In saying that, there couldn’t be better place to get stuck having what we had at our doorstep over there and with the extra few days we got to get in a few dives as well which was good.

WE DID IT !!!!
We pulled off winning one of the most elite fishing competitions in Australia, myself and Jack are still in shock that we have won!

A massive thank you to .australia without these guys sponsoring the event, this competition wouldn’t be possible.

The team at and the hard work they put in behind the scenes is mind blowing, they work hard all year round not only for this competition but also all the others they run as well!!

without him on deck for the filming, mentoring, life coaching, and just a good mate there’s no way in the world any of this would of happened he is the real backbone behind this win! He has backed myself and Jack from day one, the hours he has put into planning this film for the last three months is crazy, not to mention dealing with me and Jack for two weeks I think he planned to book the cruise for the last week of the voted period so he could get a break from us 😂

One of the most important pieces to this competition is the other competitors, massive shoutout to everyone that competed. All 10 films were insanely well put together!

has been a massive support to myself and Jack throughout the entire competition, he took on a massive risk by giving us lures to use his brand for this comp knowing that we have never caught a fish on Topwater before so it could of went really south on that side of things as well 😂

Everyone else that viewed the 10 films as well to pay and support friends and family throughout this entire event is amazing!
