WAKIRIKE SE PRACTICING JOURNALISTS CONDENMS AMAECHI STATEMENT.. demands apology

Wakirike Practicing Journalists Forum (WPJF) worldwide has condenmed the unguided comment made by Rotimi Amaechi, against the respected Amayanabo of Okochiri Kingdom, in Okrika Local Government Area, Rivers State, His Royal Majesty, King Ateke Michael Tom.

The organization further advised Amaechi to learn how to respect traditional rulers and stools, and render unreserved apology to King Ateke Michael Tom, saying that such statements are usually associated with persons with faulty home bringing.

This was contained in a statement signed its coordinator, Fubara Miebaka Amadi and secretary, Tonye Orabere, and made available to media houses, yesterday.

At the weekend, in the funeral service of late Justice Karibi Whyte, at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, in Abonnema, the former governor of the State, Rotimi Amaechi, said "Everyone is scared, we are going back to when Ateke held sway. We are going to the period where we run away from our people" .

According to the coordinator, the leaders of Ogbaka Ikwerre Convention, should call their son to order, to avert communal crisis in the State.

"We take exception to the statement made by Rotimi Amaechi. We thereby called on Amaechi to render unreserved apology to King Ateke Tom and the entire Wakirike people.

Honestly, the statement made by Amaechi was capable of causing communal crisis, but the people of Wakirike are peace loving" the statement said.

Dilapidating NLNG bridge ~ Monarch call on authorities for assistance....

What can best be described as a death trap other than when an ever busy bridge in the heart of Rivers State is broken?
This is the cry of the Amayanabo of Kalaogoloma Kingdom, HRH. King Goddy Idaminabo Idikisime Olunwa, (JP).

Kalaogoloma Kingdom an economic hub of Rivers State, houses the Headquarters of NLNG, INTELS, NDDC and other National and State agencies including Multinational oil facilities.
The bridge is the central link of all the said facilities to other parts of the State which is now a dead trap to motorists and commuters. The King is calling on the State Government, Multinationals and other companies and agencies to expedite action in reconstructing the bridge.
The NLNG bridge was constructed decades ago when the number of influx of commercial activities of International, National and State were not envisaged. Today the capacity of the bridge cannot contain the heavy economic activities going on around the area. It is therefore imperative for all concerned to come to the aid of the Kingdom to save the situation.

King Olunwa is pleading with the Governor of Rivers State HE. E. N. Wike, NLNG, NDDC and other companies operating in the area for actions to avert an impending danger on the bridge, stressing that human lives are in danger and economic activities will suffer great setback.
