It means your baby's brain is matured, vision has improved and reflex smiles are now gone. The little one now smiles to connect with you. Baby started to realize that his feelings impact the people around him.

NUTRITION DURING PREGNANCY
(Part 1)

Nutrition plays a very important role before, during and post-pregnancy. Not only does it affect the health of the mother but also supports brain development, bone development and overall development of the child in the fetus.

TOTAL CALORIES INTAKE - The total energy requirements for pregnant women is only 10% more than the maintenance calories.This means that if a woman maintains her weight
at 2000 kcal then she needs 2200 kcal only in all the 3 trimesters of pregnancy.

Role of Macronutrients
Complex carbohydrates should be a preferred source of carbs as it can help to maintain blood glucose levels during pregnancy.
The total amount of protein can be kept at around 15% of the total calories. So for example if the total calories intake is 2200, then the number of calories from protein should be around 330 kcal which makes it 82 gms of protein. Fat intake can be in the range of 15 to 30 % of total calories. Rest of the calories can be adjusted from carbs.
Intake of EPA and DHA becomes important during pregnancy and the sources are oily fish, fish oil tablets and DHA from algae.

What to avoid
Trans fats should be avoided at any cost as it harms the cardiovascular system which can affect the growth of the child in the fetus.

Parenting is obviously a lot of fun. It's just a lot less fun when your kiddo is melting down in public, melting down at home, puking, pooping, rubbing Play-doh in your carpet, etc. Honestly, I think I've had my kids do all those things in the space of a single afternoon.

These bed rails are one of the best buy from my little one, I bought it as soon as my baby girl started rolling over. It has actually saved her from innumerable incidents. It's firm and easy to fix. Earlier I used to have two of these, but now she is 2 yr 8 months old, so she is good with only one bed rail. Thank you LuvLap for this amazing saviour!

Babies notice physical changes from as early as 6 months. By the age of 5 they can show signs of racial bias. Ignoring the topic about racism wont protect children but will leave them exposed to bias. You can start traning them under the age of 5 but it's never too late to talk to them about equality and racism.
