I'm not a professional yogi, just a beginner. I've started practicing yoga a couple of months ago. I like learning new poses, finding my balance and working on my breathing. Yoga helps me to find serenity and I'll make sure to include it in my routine when sailing again!

We're pretty obsessive when it comes to researching our winter marinas. In this episode we take you through our 6 key criteria for choosing a winter berth and how it relates to our actual stay here in Marina di Ragusa, Sicily.
So if you haven't yet jump over the link in bio to watch this new episode! 👆🏼 Thanks for the support! ⛵

A couple of days ago I was walking back from taking out the trash and saw this beautiful view. The first thought that came to my mind was "I'm lucky to be here". Then I realized that I made my own luck and felt even more satisfied.

After an epic climb we made it to the summit. Thirty seconds after this shot was taken we heard the discreet footsteps of an approaching creature. Suddenly there was a loud roar and then...

Even with experience, mooring can be difficult and tricky. That was the case in Licata where the wind made us go around in circles several times before we could throw the lines to the marinero 😅

As if lifted straight from the island of Santorini, the whitewashed houses and cobbled lanes of Binibeca Vell are a dream to wander, camera at the ready. A must see!

The Cova des Coloms cave, locally known as 'The Cathedral', is an astoundingly voluminous natural cave. A must-see if you visit Menorca. You'll feel very tiny in there!

At the top of Mount Toro. It was pretty windy but the breathtaking view outshined the weather!

Do you like wine and cheese as much as we do? Then you definitely need to visit this Hort Sant Patrici on your next trip to Menorca. It's lovely there and of course very tasty!

Can you believe this place was an old disused quarry full of abandoned cars? Now it is a series of lovely gardens. It is so impressive how nature comes back. A must-do if you travel to Menorca!

From El Toro (the highest point in Menorca) you can see all corners of the island. If you look closely you might even see Talia! You could easily be mistaken into thinking this hill is named after a bull, infact the word "Turó" means hill in the local menorquí language.

A small coastal village that looks as if it belongs on the shores of Greece, Binibeca is home to whitewashed buildings and small, rocky coves. There’s really nowhere here that isn’t picturable!

It’s been two months that we’ve settle down in Marina di Ragusa. Hopefully it doesn’t fit into our long term plans and we hope to not have to stay longer than anticipated. However it’s actually felt like a pretty good place to spend winter. You get to see other boats as well as speak to the owners and meet new people. There is a real ‘community’ vibe as you walk past people with your laundry bag to the laundromat. At the end it’s probably going to be difficult to leave this place!

If you climb down the rock face in Pont d'en Gil you're rewarded with some fantastic hidden rock pools. We loved checking out how thousands of years of the tramontana wind had shaped this part of the coast. Beautiful spot!

Look at me sunbathing on the roof terrace of Bastione Saint Remy in Cagliari. I remember it was late October and the sun was shining like in May!

A short and sweet stop in Licata before heading to Ragusa for the winter. I think we could easily have stayed there for the winter because the marina is lovely, with good facilities, nice staff and great protection from the sea.

Carloforte has some of the most charming and beautiful small streets when walking up to the lookout. We loved the colorful houses with clothes hanging out everywhere!

Some beautiful paths can't be discovered without getting lost. That's why we loved wandering around to see the houses, palaces and churches that lined the streets of Ragusa Ibla!

This historical bastion of 18th century looks like something out of a fairy tale. Beautiful architecture and stunning views. We loved admiring it from the square below with a spritz, and strolling around from above it.

Just the two of us in front of the marina. Once again we were watching the sunset disappearing behind the boats. I no longer count the sunsets we've seen since starting this adventure!

First place we visited when arriving in Cagliari. We didn't want to miss the sunset so we went up the hill to watch it.
The view above the town and the harbour was amazing! Well worth the climb up the stairs!

Are you sunset hunters like us?

2020 has been one hell of a year! While sailing might be one of the ultimate forms of social distancing we're still not immune to the restrictions of movement imposed by the different countries around the Med. Like most out there, we're also happy to see the sun set on 2020. We won't forget the lessons we learned this year and can't wait to learn more in 2021!

This pic is one of the most beautiful evenings we had before preparing Talia for winter. When the sun sets this perfectly we can't help but just stop and appreciate how lucky we are.

Let's hope for an even happier and healthier 2021!

Thanks for your support this year guys!

One of our last destinations before wintering. We arrived at the end of the day after 9 hours of navigation. However when arriving at the marina, no marinero was there for mooring support. So we did it by ourselves and managed to perfectly moor between two other boats (in a very tiny space)!

December calls for sweets all month long so how can we resist to these delicious Sicilian cannolis?

Would you resist the temptation? What is your favorite dessert?

Never bored from these wonderful places we've been to.
Remembering when passing by Ciutadella de Menorca Cathedral. A mix of Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles. The church is a real testament on how it has survived through the ages.
