FoS Whistles Earlier.

By 2029, the senatorial seat now occupied by Cllr.Joseph K. Jallah will be up for grab. The same seat that Former Defense Minister of Liberia Brownie Samukai won in 2020 but was deprived of it following his conviction by the Supreme Court of Liberia for mismanagement of funds earmarked for the AFL.

He was later pardoned and all his rights and liberties were restored during the CDC administration by the then President of Liberia H.E. George M. Weah.

Now with a little over four years yet ahead, the Friends of Samukai, FoS for short, the political movement that supported the former Defense Minister in 2020, has expressed interest in "RECLAIMING" what it terms as a "STOLEN SEAT".

In the last couple of days, the team has been having some consultative meetings in Zorlayea (Zorzor and Salayea districts) for a come back in 2029.

What's your opinion on this?

Lofa County Superintendent, Honorable Labela Massaquoi on today put to haut the induction of the newly appointed County Health Officer, Dr Raphael Ombeni Shamavu.
It follows a formal complain filed by aggrieved workers of Lofa County Health System expressing their dissatisfactions about Dr. Raphael's appointment.

May 22,2024

Dr. Raphael was serving the position of medical director at Kolahun Hospital before his appointment as Lofa County Health Officer (CHO).
The aggrived workers alleged that under Dr. Raphael's management, nurses at Kolahun hospital experience his poor performance.

They also claimed that in 2021 five professional nurses expressed their unwillingness to work with Dr. Raphael.
As stated in their complain letter addressed to the office of superintendent Massaquoi, Dr. Raphael created serious division among midwives at Kolahun hospital.

In light of these allegations, the workers requested that the appointment of Dr. Raphael as the County Health Officer be reconsidered. They argued that his previous track record does not demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and improve the health system in Lofa County.

Superintendent Massaquoi, upon receiving the complaint letter, expressed concern over the allegations made against Dr. Raphael. He assured the workers that their concerns will be thoroughly investigated and addressed.
Furthermore, Superintendent Massaquoi announced that the induction of Dr. Raphael as the County Health Officer will be put on hold until the investigation into the workers' complaints is concluded.
The Superintendent urged the workers to remain calm and cooperative during the investigation process.

Meanwhile, Dr. Raphael Ombeni Shamavu as the County Health Officer of Lofa County has been temporarily put on hold due to complaints filed by aggrieved health workers regarding his previous management of Kolahun hospital. The Superintendent has promised to thoroughly investigate the allegations and make a decision based on the findings of the investigation.

May 21, 2024

Executive Mansion, Monrovia: Following a meeting held with Rice Importers in Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, has disapproved any increment in the price of rice and that prices remain unchanged pending further and thorough review.

Meanwhile, the Government of Liberia has advised strongly that there be no hoarding of this essential commodity and no cross-border transfer or transshipment from Liberia.

The Ministries of Justice, Commerce and Industry and the Joint Security have been instructed to ensure that this directive is fully adhered to.

All parties are encouraged to play their part at this critical juncture as the government strives to move ahead full-scale with the implementation of the ARREST Agenda for prosperity and national peace.1
