UPDATE 12:17PM: The power is back on 😭 thank you all so, so much for coming to us in our time of need!

If you have an animal out, they can come back at any time ❤️ we will be here until 5pm today!

If you dropped off any supplies, we are organizing them for easy pick ups ❤️

The ac's are whirring and we're going to work on cleaning up all the melted ice 😅

UPDATE 11:33AM - I drove out to get service and update. Still no power, but we have enough generators, fans, and ice to keep everyone comfortable. We are pouring ice onto the floor in front of fans to cool down the air.

We have had generous donations of water, Gatorade, and chips for our staff - and we really appreciate that consideration too!

Currently, we have moved out all eligible cats and puppies to keep them comfy.

Biggest need right now is for adult dogs to have somewhere to go - we have a lot of sweet, friendly dogs who would love to cool off in any spare room you have!

🚨 SOS 🚨 We have NO POWER at the shelter and it's going to be in the mid 90's today 😭 We need your help!

Ways to help:
⭐️ UPDATE 9:30AM - we have plenty of coolers, fans, and ice now!! Thank you all so so much for jumping in to help our shelter animals 😭 Sam's club is filling my car with ice and generously donated cases of water as well!!

⭐️ MOST NEEDED HELP: borrow an animal for the day! If you can take them to work with you or take them somewhere that has ac until the power's back on 🥺 we would be so grateful!

Anyone who drops off a cooler, generator, or fan - we will label it with tape and your last name to make sure we get it back to you.

All of our staff who can come in are speeding there now to take care of the animals before the heat sets in 🥺

If you are willing to take a dog out, you can come now or anytime today and we'll be glad to see you!

Thank you all for any help you can ❤️ I will update this post as we see any changes. We hope everyone else has power and is comfortable 😭

Feedback needed!

I’m sure it wouldn’t shock you to tell you that our business has suffered since the road work signs went up and traffic in CL got even worse!

We realize everyone in Small Business is struggling, and we aren’t trying to get sympathy so please don’t misunderstand us. We are incredibly resilient. We also have options and a great landlord, which others don’t necessarily have, and we are grateful for that.

We want to continue to be here for our staff and our community, but the retail sales just aren’t here right now. You can’t run a business with just ❤️…

BUT we do have an idea that we would love feedback on!!

What if we altered our business strategy to reduce our current inventory to about 1/3 of the wine and beer we sell as retail, and modified the shop into more of a sit-down drinks/small plate restaurant with some of your favorite retail products still available for purchase. You could still stop and take home your favorites, but maybe bring friends and have a glass of🍷 or a 🍺 , along with a charcuterie platter while you are at it?

We realize this may not be why we came here in the first place, but our hearts just aren’t finished with Cross Lanes. So, what do you think, friends?

Would you still shop retail with less options?

Would you like to have a relaxing sit down with us?

Would you like some live music with your sips?

Fayette County, W.Va. — A video sharing a view of the New River Gorge from the New River Gorge Bridge was taken today at 8:25 am by Jordan Elwell. Reports of a fire first came in at 3 pm yesterday. Local news stations say it originated on private land. They also state that roughly 50 acres have been impacted by the fire so far and that multiple fire crews are on the scene. Words of wisdom and facts were brought to the table as The Biz with NormBeezy and Lady Tiger hosted live interviews between community leaders and educators. And vendors were set up, including one that registered people to vote in person before the October 18th deadline. There is an overturned car on the South Side Bridge in Charleston, WV. I did not see what happened and am not aware of the conditions of this driver.

If West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice approves HB 302, abortions will be banned unless: - An embryo or fetus is nonviable - There’s an ectopic pregnancy - A medical emergency exists - It’s done within eight weeks of a pregnancy caused by sexual assault or incest for an adult [14 weeks for an minor] Only professionals who hold a medical license at an approved location can perform an abortion, if the above criteria is met. The House and Senate are adjourned until further notice. That means abortions are still legal to the same extent as before, for now. Protestors who remained stated they will return to the Capitol until an agreement has been made.
