Rachael is an experienced and compassionate clinician with licenses in Ohio and Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and a Minor in Theatre Arts from Ohio University, a Master of Arts in Counseling Ministries and a Master of Divinity from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. Rachael is currently attending the University of Michigan to obtain her certification in S*x Therapy and S*x Education and wants to continue with her doctorate of Gender and Feminist Psychology, Rachael received two Student Enrichment Program scholarships while in her master’s program to study Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and completed the advanced program. She is certified in ADHD and ADD assessment and working towards her RYT200 in yoga with specialization in yoga for trauma, meditation, and wellness coaching. Rachael has led seminars on the 12-Step group process at Ohio State University’s Addiction Studies Institute and with the University of Chicago in tandem with the Phoenix Center as a research assistant, to better understand the ramifications of HIV with less harm reduction in rural areas.
In her spare time, which is not a lot, she enjoys spending time with her wife, Sharon, their four yorkies – Ozzie, Haiden, Halsey, and KayCee – hiking, going out in the Jeep, doing yoga, going to a good drag show, spending time with friends.
Rachael has been in the Illinois area for four years but has been active in Pride events for many years. Rachael was an active member in the Columbus Pride parade for many years on floats, marching, in tents, and patrols. Now, Rachael is a PROUD member of the Phoenix Center and has been involved in each Pridefest since she has been here -showing how much this community means to her and how much she will always be here to support it in any way she can.
