Monday Morning Motivation from your founder Wendy Benton.
Good morning and Happy Monday. When you look at today's date and realize that the first month of 2022 is almost over are you satisfied with what you have accomplished so far?
You may have walked into 2022 with no true desire to make any changes. Sometimes I think maybe that is the best way to do it so you don't get disappointed but our nature for most of us is to make that New Years Resolution list and work toward making it happen.
I have seen memes popping up all over social media saying that January was not good so they are starting their new year over on Feb 1st. Is this you? Did you start something and stop? Or did you start and no matter what you are still going strong?
Here are a few tips to help you Start and not Stop
1. Don't make your goals too high and out of reach. If you are a home business owner and your desire is to be full-time working from home and you are saying I will do this in 1 month or 2, give yourself a proper time frame so that you can baby-step your way to success. It's not like if you do accomplish that quickly you are going to get mad that you hit your goal sooner than later. But it's much better for your attitude and confidence to hit small goals along the way rather than hitting nothing and getting frustrated enough to give up.
2. Create a proper plan of action. For example, maybe you want to lose weight. Your plan of action would consist of. How you will do it, When you will exercise, What you will eat, Who you will do it with, Remember in any plan of action the Who, What, Where, When How is always a good set of questions to have complete answers for to help you create a beautiful plan of action. Without a plan, how do you do it? If you get in a car to go somewhere you have never been before and you don't use the GPS, how do you get there? Every plan needs a POA, it is your MAP to success.
3. Set a time frame. When will you start? When do you want to hit your first goal (don't make this a specific date, Like On February 1st I will have made $1000 or lost 10 pounds, or spoke to 10 people. So if you started January 1st you may create a deadline like this. By Feb 1st-5th I will have lost 10 pounds, made $1000 dollars, etc....) Keeping your time frame a little more open than one specific date helps you not stress over hitting your goals exactly on that day. You want to hit them obviously but do it in a positive way and again if you hit them sooner, nobody will ever get mad about that. It will inspire you to push forward even more. But if you don't hit them it's also ok. Just extend the date and see what you have accomplished. This brings me to my last point.
4. What happens if I don't hit my goals and my plan of action ends up being horrible? It's easy, remember you are human, you will fail, we are destined to fail at one point or another. So you sit down, breathe, and write a new plan of action using the same Who, What, When, Where, and How and start over. The best thing about any goal is you control everything. You can change it, start over whenever want, improve it, and everything that happens along the way will help you, even if failing is part of it.
So there you have it, Four points to help you. Are you starting over on Feb 1? Sit down and check your January and see what you need to do. Then make notes, write it all down, and remember you have 11 more months to make it all happen.
But the most important part is never to give up. Giving up will never help you accomplish anything.
You got this.
Make 2022 your year to reach all your goals.
