Carrucci Shoes Steps Ahead with RFID https://www.rfidjournal.com/news/carrucci-shoes-steps-ahead-with-rfid/221403/

The men’s shoe company used a retailer’s RFID mandate as catalyst to deploy an inventory management system identifying each product as it enters and leaves its warehouse. The data from the RFID4U solution, known as TagMatiks Wedge, not only helps ensure the right products are shipped to its customers, the retailers, but enables Carrucci to gain a high level of inventory accuracy needed for e-commerce sales. Now that the system is fully live, the products are being tagged at the manufacturing site. When Carrucci places an order from the manufacturing site, they send the corresponding Avery Dennison tags to the factory. As the new products are packed in shoe boxes, the RFID tags are applied to each one, and the unique ID encoded on that tag is linked to the product SKU.

RFID, RTLS Bring Data to AI in the Factory

https://www.rfidjournal.com/news/rfid-rtls-bring-data-to-ai-in-the-factory/221289/

Factories are introducing AI into their product design, assembly automation and robotics, as well as exploring ways to make general efficiency improvements. And some are leveraging the rich data provided by RFID solutions to enable that effort. RFID will rise to 66 percent within the next five years based on the plans of manufacturing leadership surveyed this year in a Zebra Technologies study.

When an AI system works well, management can then gain insights on the way production work or material flow is taking place.
