Cambodia will not yield to any form of coercion or intimidation from the Thai side.

This firm position was reiterated by the official spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia in response to recent developments along the Cambodian-Thai border.

Cambodia is a sovereign and independent nation that upholds the principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and the sanctity of its internationally recognized borders. While we remain committed to peaceful dialogue and diplomatic solutions, we categorically reject any attempts by the Thai side to exert pressure, spread misinformation, or provoke fear through military posturing or psychological tactics.

The Cambodian Armed Forces stand ready to protect the integrity of our national territory and the safety of our people. We will not be drawn into provocations, but neither will we allow any infringement upon our sovereignty to go unanswered.

The international community should be made aware that Cambodia has always exercised maximum restraint, even in the face of unwarranted aggression, and has repeatedly called for peaceful, bilateral or multilateral solutions through appropriate international mechanisms. However, such good faith must not be mistaken for weakness.

Cambodia remains open to constructive dialogue—but stands unwavering in its duty to defend its nation.

📢 PERSONAL RESPONSE TO THAILAND

Thailand’s deliberate closure of the Poipet border gate at 3 PM today is a clear and unacceptable act of aggression against Cambodia and its people. At a time when our brothers and sisters are returning home with their belongings, Thailand’s decision to shut the door is an insult to human dignity and a violation of basic humanitarian principles.

This act of hostility undermines the long-standing ties between our peoples and disrespects the rights of Cambodian citizens to freely return to their homeland. We condemn this unjustified action in the strongest terms and call on Thailand to immediately reopen the border and respect the movement of our people.

Cambodia stands firm in defending the sovereignty and dignity of its citizens. Attempts to isolate or pressure our people will never succeed. We demand respect, fairness, and peaceful cooperation at all border crossings.

To the international community, we urge vigilance and support for Cambodia’s sovereign rights and the humane treatment of its citizens.

📢 PERSONAL STATEMENT TO DONALD J. TRUMP
Gratitude for Efforts to End the Cambodia–Thailand Conflict

We are truly grateful to former President Donald J. Trump for his timely intervention in helping to stop the war between Cambodia and Thailand.

According to his statement:

"Just spoke to the Prime Minister of Cambodia regarding stopping the war with Thailand. I am now calling the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand to likewise request a ceasefire and end to the conflict, which is currently escalating.

We happen to be, by coincidence, negotiating trade deals with both countries, but I made it clear that we do not want to make any agreement with either side while they are fighting.

The call with Cambodia has ended, and I plan to follow up depending on Thailand’s response. I am trying to simplify a very complex situation.

Many lives are being lost, and this reminds me of the India–Pakistan conflict, which we successfully helped bring to an end."

We, the Cambodian people, deeply appreciate this gesture of peace. We hope that both sides can come together, stop the violence, and protect the lives of innocent civilians. May diplomacy and mutual understanding prevail over armed conflict.
