It's been a *very* long journey to get here, and it feels good to be "unto a lamp," as co-editor Miranda Mellis put it, moving in light, joy, knowledge, love, positive thought for unstoppable futures. Though our project responds with playful seriousness to both the wonder-full and problematic Encyclopaedia Brittanica, as content on the Internet being increasingly controlled, policed, filtered and manipulated, we cannot take easy access to information for granted.

Bowing to the competition online, the encyclopedia's publisher said the 2010 edition, a 32-volume set that weighs in at 129 pounds, would be the last.
