The Encyclopedia Project The Encyclopedia Project is a three-volume, hardcover, cross-referenced literary journal that explor Encyclopedia Vol. 3 L-Z is underway!

THE ENCYCLOPEDIA PROJECT was founded in 2006, and is edited and published by Tisa Bryant, Miranda Mellis and Kate Schatz. The Encyclopedia Project is a hybrid publication that plays with the reference book, literary journal and arts catalogue, blending all into a hybrid series of cross-referenced hardcover volumes. Each book complicates categorical, genre and narrative expectations, while connecti

We are very excited to announce that the final book in The Encyclopedia Project, Encyclopedia Vol. 3 L-Z, has been released and it is BEAUTIFUL! It's been a *very* long journey to get here, and it feels good to be "unto a lamp," as co-editor Miranda Mellis put it, moving in light, joy, knowledge, love, positive thought for unstoppable futures. Thank you all, contributors, supporters, friends, donors, with very special and heartfelt thanks to Patrick Kiley, Katie Aymar and Jason Pontius for their invaluable commitment, attention and labor. April 8, 12—BLOOM is pleased to announce the winners of its 2011 Chapbook Contest. All winners will receive a $100 honorarium, along with 25 copies of their chapbook, which will be published in October 2012. Though our project responds with playful seriousness to both the wonder-full and problematic Encyclopaedia Brittanica, as content on the Internet being increasingly controlled, policed, filtered and manipulated, we cannot take easy access to information for granted.

Bowing to the competition online, the encyclopedia's publisher said the 2010 edition, a 32-volume set that weighs in at 129 pounds, would be the last.
