The Garden of the Seasons by Dulk

“The Garden of the Seasons”. Triptych. 300x150cm (39”x59”) 100x150 (39”x59”)each painting. Acrylic on canvas. This one has been the biggest painting I ever worked in the studio. Also the one with more time dedicated exclusively to its creation. Thanks to a good friend and collector for giving me the oportunity of working in this project. It’s such an amazing experience being in the same painting for a long time and learn from it while each little story is coming to life. I’ll share detail pictures in the upcoming days to know more about each scene.

Fourteen years on, award-winning filmmaker Tearepa Kahi, world renowned actor Cliff Curtis and I, announce our response to the event, with the feature film MURU.

Walking with the Ancestors ☁️🌻✨✨✨

Am working on this piece at the moment as part of my series of painting for my Solo Exhibition ‘Cultural Custodians’.
This painting is titled ‘Walking with The Ancestors’ and it will show how the ceremonies shared are not merely about the physicality or even the symbolic representation of the relationships shared. They are also on a greater level an invitation and a celebration of the timeless reflection of the ever happening relationship with the oneness.. So when Uncle Wiruungga Dunggiirr shares in dance, song, in getting painted up or in ceremony. He is sharing the timeless truths of sustainable living emotionally, mentally, psychically and physically.. That all derive from a spirituality that holds but also transcends all of these things.. sacred Songs, Dances, Ceremonies are alive and well in the cellular memories embedded within the DNA molecules.. As he walks with over 2000 generations of embedded cultural knowledge and wisdom.. 👣🌿🖤💛❤️
