WPAL

WPAL Welcome to the WPAL page. Here, we post videos we produce, as well as other online content There was zero cost to the taxpayers.

From 1987 through April 2018, WPAL served the residents of Peotone, Beecher, & Monee, as well as the following five townships: Will, Washington, Monee, Peotone, Green Garden. The station was carried on Comcast cable, channel 4 and completely paid for by fees paid by Comcast subscribers. One of the village administrations did not like that so many people could easily see what was going on at the bo

ard meetings and many of the committee meetings. In the fall of 2017, at a secret and private meeting with the mayors of the other 2 villages, they decided without any input from their citizens or boards to get rid of the station. This plan was implemented without any public notice and without notifying the management of WPAL. Only a few obscure clues were made available buried deeply where the public would never know. So the station stopped broadcasting on it's Comcast feed on May 1, 2018

This page had gotten over 500 followers by that point, so it has been kept going to occasionally share information about local activities and events which may be of interest to residents of the villages and townships which were in our broadcast footprint. It also remains up as it has hosted scores of recorded village & township meetings, as well as other video from the station's last decade of public broadcasting.
