Producer/Dj Magda to launch new series of collaborative, off location events and record label

“PERM is a project inspired by my musical and aesthetic influences growing up in Detroit and always searching for the lines between things. Both the events and record label are based on unique collaborations with various multi-media artists to present something a little different.”

Perm would like to very much thank Lambda Labs for making our first season outstanding with the world's only coherent hornloaded soundsystem: QX series.
There is nothing more important than a great and clear soundsystem to allow artists and the audience to experience the depth and richness of the music being played. Playing on this system was a true pleasure for me as a dj and allowed me to get into some interesting experimentation.
Thanks again! Magda x

DJB Podcast #352 - Tolga Fidan

[ Tolga Fidan ]
Since breaking into the electronic dance music consciousness with his first release on Vakant in 2006, the Berlin based Turkish artist recently launch his own imprint TFR. Always drawn to experimental music, Tolga works with layers of complex electronic soundscapes, taking a real creative approach to a linear sound.
For his performance at Perm04, he will be joined with Perm's resident Hamid for a impromptu Live, a first and unique collaboration!

As part of Berlin’s Bass Cadet Records extended family, Tolga Fidan drops his first release in over three years. The French-Turkish producer who’s previously been associated with the likes of Vakant and New Kanada, embeds many of the record stores traditional house and techno leanings, combined with...

For Perm04 Natalia Escobar, See You and Baby Vulture will present an improvised sound and visual performance.
They will present a surrealistic installation, interlocking original and found footage as well as original, influential music and field recordings. Interlocking rational and arranged reality, they will create a sonic and visual immersive journey, drawing attention to the different levels within the objects in the space.

“A window can draw you into the distance within proximity all the way to where it vanishes with the point. This is not a hocus pocus which can be performed only by kinship terms. The glass seems to secure perspectives that can shoulder the cold stare of so many third persons while our image is resolved in favor of inaccessible riverbeds. Alternating small and large measures, the dust on the pane is part of the attraction, a way of allowing the environment in. So would a stone’s throw, substituting the high frequencies of shattering for the play of reflections.”

Pole - Warum

[ Pole ]
Over the years, words like “minimal,” “dub,” and “glitch” have been used to describe the music of Pole AKA Stefan Bekte. But in the end, no one sounds quite like Pole, founder of the groundbreaking experimental label ~scape and renowned Berlin studio, Scape Mastering.
Whether he’s pushing boundaries with his own tracks or putting the finishing touches on other artists’ studio constructions, there’s little question that Pole has played an important role in shaping electronic music during the past two decades.
A rare opportunity to catch him Live that is not to be missed!

The Pier // film / 2015 - Ali M. Demirel

[ Ali M. Demirel ]
We're glad to announce a very special guest, the Turkish artist Ali M.Demirel, who will present his project "The Pier".

The Pier is a short film realised by Demirel by the invitation of TodaysArt Festival last year. It was shot at the abandoned Scheveningen Pier in Den Haag before it's renovation. Enhenced by the soundtrack of Biosphere, the film is a meditation on the dystopian beauty of an architectural structure without human presence.
For Perm04, Demirel will make a basic level live mix of his footage on Biosphere's soundtrack for the film.
