Member of Parliament for Kanye South constituency Dr Lemogang Kwape this afternoon officiated the Ramonnedi-Lotlhakane water pipe.

In his speech Dr Kwape requested members of the community to guard against vandalism. He said that some times there is water shortage as water as some members of the community vandalize these pipes to sell water to the constituents. He further thanked the management for taking up such a project as its an in-house project. On their part the management promised that the project will be completed on time and on budget.

BDP Appoints Constitutional Review Advisory Team

Botswana Democratic Party President His Excellency Dr Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi has appointed a team of 4 members whose sole responsibility is to review the country’s Constitution and advise the party on its submissions towards the anticipated comprehensive constitutional review.

The comprehensive constitutional review marks the delivery of one of the many BDP declarations consistent with the Party’s manifesto promises to Batswana.

The committee will be chaired by party veteran and lawyer David Magang.

I have just received final brief on the storyline,how they are going to tell our story! This is why I have always insisted on a Psychologist/Counselor! The emotions are high already, The Reality is here, both Kagiso and Mpho will finally have a chance to tell you their truth!

I had heard about the scholarships but had no idea where to start. I then visited the Kanye South constituency office for help where I met a certain Mr Nkhabara(Bofelo Nkhabara). Seeing the potential in me, he took me by the hand, shared the links so I could apply and gave me the kind of support that could push anyone out of their comfort zone.I applied and voila: I'm here now delighted to have been offered a place to pursue an Msc in Environmental Science in India and I can only pledge to do well in that regard and serve my community and nation upon return.❤️❤️❤️🙏grateful.

DIS DOES NOT HARASS NOR SEEK TO HARM FORMER PRESIDENT KHAMA

The Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS) has noted ongoing comments by the former president of Botswana, His Excellency Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian KHAMA on media platforms in which he wrongfully alleges that he is being harassed by the Directorate.

While the Directorate is reluctant to enter the fray of public controversy, it is important to set the record straight regarding the frequent misinformation emerging from the former president’s regrettable utterances which he has been making since 2019.

Former Presidents, by virtue of their service to the country are provided protective security as per Section 9 of the Intelligence and Security Service Act.

This practice, which is standard practice across the world, is meant to provide former presidents security and protection from real or potential harm for the rest of their lives.

Throughout its provision, the protection of former presidents is, as per standard practice, subject to the Directorate’s continuous security risk assessments.

These assessments inform the Directorate on whether or not to increase the security of former presidents depending on noted threats and other security requirements.

These services have been provided to former presidents; the late Sir Ketumile Masire and Dr Festus Mogae in much the same way they are now provided to former President Khama.

It should be noted that it is quite normal for former presidents to express satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the Directorate regarding some aspects of their personal security.

Where possible and without deviation from established laws, requests of former presidents the late Sir Ketumile, Dr Mogae as well as Khama have been factored in from time to time, always in the best interest of their welfare.

The Directorate, like former president Khama, is subject to the direction and requirements of the laws of Botswana.

Contrary to the former president’s allegations of harassment and plot to harm him, the public should rest assured that the Directorate will continue to be professional in its provision of personal security to former presidents Mogae and Khama, and will above all continue to fulfil its mandate with total fidelity to the laws of the Republic of Botswana.

Some guy driving a white Toyota Corolla got stuck and randomly asked the Hon.Dr Lems Kwape for help near the BBS mall in Gabs city yesterday.
He had apparently tried everything he knew how to do to fix some electrical fault he had identified, but to no avail.
When he saw the MP walk towards his car, parked next to his, he randomly called for help.
Ever so humble, the MP, without a word, rolled back his sleeves and answered the fellow's need.
But speechless he was when it later dawned on him who his "mechanic" was.
"Oh no, I thought he was just a random guy, it's not everyday that a Minister goes out of his way to help an absolute stranger like me," he said and took selfies with the Minister, day made!!!

In a bid to fight nCov19 the South African Head of State President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa in his state of the nation address stated that Night vigils will not be permitted while
funerals numbers will move from 50 to 100 and that travels for business and tourism will be allowed while total covid-19 procedure will be observed.

Indoor gatherings will be 250 and outdoor will be 500 people only.

The sale of Alcohol will be allowed from 0900HRS AM to 1700HRS for home and onsite consumption and with strict covid-19 adherence.

Faith based organisation will be allowed to gather based on the prescribed numbers.
