Good evening everyone,

A Winter Storm Watch is currently in effect for the Lehigh Valley northward. Much of Central Pennsylvania is also under a Winter Storm Watch.

Arrival time will be late Saturday morning and will last through Sunday morning. Now the track appears to be trending a bit westward. This will allow warm air to surge northward, and change the snow to mix to plain rain from south to north.

That being said, several inches of snow will fall from Berks County northward before the changeover to plain rain. The height of the storm will be Saturday afternoon through the overnight hours.

If you have to travel Saturday afternoon into the overnight, give yourself lots of extra time to reach your destination.

Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.
DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Isolated instances of flooding are possible through early
evening, especially in the Interstate 95 corridor urban areas.

A severe thunderstorm with locally damaging wind gusts is
possible through early this evening, mainly east of Interstate
95. Scattered thunderstorms may produce gusty winds on the waters
through this evening. A waterspout is also possible on the
Chesapeake Bay.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible Monday afternoon and
evening. Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the primary
threats. Isolated severe storms are possible Tuesday afternoon and

A cold front is plowing through Eastern Pennsylvania at this hour. With it's passage will be a brief heavy shower, then temperatures crashing with increasing wind.

While the chance is very small, I wouldn't be shocked at all if he heard a rumble of thunder.

We have a pretty good Saturday on tap here in Eastern Pennsylvania, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the 40s.

There's not a lot ( if any snow ) in our immediate future. The next 7-10 days, our temperatures will be a bit above normal.

Now, that's not to see winter is dead by any stretch. Some of our biggest snow events have happened in March and April. Personally, I have no issue with a snowless winter as I'm a delivery driver. On the other hand, 1 decent snow storm would be nice.....

This slop will move into Eastern Pennsylvania by the morning. The higher elevations of the slate belt could start off with a bit of freezing rain on Thursday morning, but it doesn't last long as we'll top out in the 50s with on and off showers.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for a huge chunk of the coverage area today. With wind forecasted to be 20-30mph and relative humidity below 25%, the risk of wildfires is elevated.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Slate Belt beginning at noon today. Winds are forecasted to be 20-30mph worth gusts to 50mph at times.

Your Eastern Pennsylvania Forecast has sunny skies and windy with highs around 50°F. Then tonight will be crystal clear with lows around 20°F.
