First off, we would like to introduce ourselves. We are Hazel Hogan and Beau Williams, Editors of the 2 Meter Review. Our mission with this project is to produce a digital anthology during this difficult time that will create something beautiful, powerful, and poignant out of the madness. The content in this anthology will not necessarily be about the pandemic but is made up simply of poetry and photography created during this time. This digital anthology will be distributed for sale by the individual poets and photographers who are to be published in it, ensuring that 100% of the proceeds go into the pockets of the artists. During these difficult times, artists are taking a big hit to the wallet. It is our hope that this project could provide a small relief to that, and at the same time, produce an amazing piece of art. It is in the darkest of times where poetry and art are needed most.
Poetry:
- All submissions must be sent to [email protected]. Please leave your name out of the subject and body of the email as well as the submission itself so we can keep this as unbiased as possible. The only identifying factor should be in your bio (if your name is in your email address, don’t worry, that cannot be helped. We will do our best to keep that out of sight when considering the work). That being said, along with your submission, please attach a short (roughly 100 word) biography. In review, we want you to submit:
- 1 (.doc or .pdf) submission of up to three poems. Please title all poems for reference.
- 1 (.doc or .pdf) bio of roughly 100 words
- PLEASE DO NOT SEND MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS. SUBMISSIONS SHOULD BE 2 DOCUMENTS ONLY.
- PLEASE DO NOT PASTE SUBMISSIONS INTO THE BODY OF THE EMAIL. The body of the email should be a short, simple acknowledgment of your submission.
- All poems must not exceed two typed pages at 12 point standard readable font.
- Submissions must not be published anywhere else (excluding social media or your own personal website/blog). If they get accepted to publication at any point during this process, please contact [email protected] and let us know so we can remove it from consideration.
- Poems of any topic will be considered. While 2 Meter Review is a reference to the pandemic, the poems have no obligation to be about it.
- 2 Meter Review will be edited by Dublin poets, Beau Williams and Hazel Hogan.
