Medical debt I incurred keeping my medically fragile child alive made all our lives more complicated. My credit rating was crap, we had to change specialists because we owed tens of thousands we had no way of repaying & couldn't get approved for waivers.

All of that was WITH the insurance provided to state employees.

This move will create generational wealth. This will mean car payments are lower because the folks will qualify for lower interest rates. They're less likely to have their applications to rent refused.

Our White House Holiday card arrived today! Shout out to the Biden/Harris Admin for choosing a card that that could be mailed in a letter sized envelope, better for the environment - and using recycled paper to do it.

The card reminds me of those treasured, but always torn (usually by some classmate when you took it for Show & Tell) pop up books that were so snazzy back before the internets.

I'm disabled. I feel weird posting about it. I'm not looking for sympathy. But it occurs to me that I am not using my voice to advocate for others like me. I'm not sharing my authentic self.

Disabled folks are mocked so much, it's hard to even say.

I may say more later. For now though: I am disabled. Didn't want to be. But I have been permanently & completely disabled since 1998 when I was 24 years old.

Interacting with a celebrity online is the digital version of getting their autograph. It's "hey, look, I interacted with this person you've heard of" & it's fun. I've been interacting with Holly Marie Combs online for five years, we even texted last election and I'm sorry, kids, I know you fell in love with her in Charmed, but I've been on the Holly Train since her days on Picket Fences.

Remember Christine Snowton, how we called all the good looking older men "Picket Fences" because, Tom Skerritt. That was one fine old white man, let me tell you.
