In this Episode, Bethany and Kristy discussed Kristy's breastfeeding journey with her twins. Kristy was fortunate to have a lactation consultant who helped her prepare for breastfeeding and encouraged natural latching, but the hospital staff had a more clinical approach and did not follow Kristy's desires. Kristy shared how connecting with other mothers of multiples and giving herself permission to use formula for one feed helped alleviate the pressure and guilt around breastfeeding. Bethany emphasized the importance of asking for help from one's partner and taking care of oneself.

Hi Mama!! If it’s our first time meeting, my name is Bethany!

In 2018, we joyfully welcomed my first baby boy into the world, and in 2020, my heart expanded even more with the arrival of my second baby boy. However, our happiness was soon accompanied by a challenge when I discovered that our second son had a tongue and lip-tie that had gone unnoticed at the hospital. This led to difficulties during breastfeeding, with my baby making clicking noises while nursing and frequently popping off my breast.

Seeking guidance, I turned to my lactation consultant for support on how to address this issue and where to begin. Though it was a tough journey, we persevered and managed to exclusively breastfeed for 13 months. Now, I am here to offer my assistance and support to anyone embarking on their own breastfeeding journey.

Together, let's navigate this beautiful and rewarding experience of nurturing our little ones. 🤱💙🩷

About Martha

I am a mom who understands the joys and challenges of the empty nest season.

As a pastor, educator, and encourager, I have spent years investing in the lives of others. I love Jesus , my husband Matt, my three young adult children, and my church community and they are at the heart of everything I do.

Martha has a heart for helping empty nesters navigate this season of change with joy, purpose, and confidence. I know that this time can be both exciting and overwhelming, and my goal is to come alongside parents and provide them with the support they need to thrive in this new season.

Through my own personal experience and years of ministering to families, I love helping parents transition to the empty nest season. I understand the emotions that come with this change and I am committed to providing support and encouragement every step of the way.

My approach is relational and personalized. I take the time to listen and understand each individual’s unique situation, and then provide practical advice and encouragement. my desire is to empower empty nesters to communicate effectively, strengthen their relationships, and embrace this season of change with hope and optimism.

Whether you’re struggling with finding a new purpose, feeling disconnected from your spouse, or simply looking for someone to walk alongside you on your journey, I want to be someone you can trust to offer wise counsel and a listening ear. I want you to feel seen, heard, and empowered to embrace this new season of life.

In this episode, I have my good friend Sharla Flynn. She talks about her two very different breastfeeding journeys with her two children where she found out later her son had a tongue-tie.

About Scharla

Hei! I’m Scharla and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and children. We enjoy outdoor adventures and living between two great lakes with plenty of green space allows some room to roam. Because of the extraordinary times, we switched gears and are taking some uncommon roads. It reunited me with an old love – the written word. We picked up a new hobby too (sailing) and reunited with another old love – water. I’m so happy when I’m out there on the water. I find it peaceful. It’s a great place to clear my head, write and work!

In this episode, Bethany shares her journey of becoming a Mom for the first time. She talks about her two very different breastfeeding journeys. How you can work 1:1 with Bethany to help you through your breastfeeding journey.

About Bethany

I am a Mama of 2 boys. My second son was born with a tongue tie that nobody caught at the hospital. I went home with a baby that was clicking while nursing and popping off my breast often. He could not get a deep latch. He snored every night, waking me up multiple times a night. Constantly, he was spitting up all the time and hiccuping in between all feedings. I was so tired with engorged breasts and feeding my baby every hour. However, I knew this was not normal because my first baby did not have any of these problems.

“I am here to help you discover that not all journeys are the same through this podcast.”
