Well, what do you know? Today is exactly five years since I started my first regular open mic!
I'm in the mood to celebrate how much this one small activity has taken over my life, so please do come to The Lower Turks Head tonight from 8pm and do whatever it is you do so wonderfully π
Update/amendment to last night's gig announcement:
We got wind that 7th December is the birthday of everyone's favourite Irish pop-punk, so we've done the only decent option in this case and got himself on the lineup!
It just keeps getting better and better. Come one and all to this acoustic punk birthday party π
We're fitting one more show in this year, and it's coming full circle from the beginning of 2023 as we welcome Tim Holehouse back to the Grafton Arms on Thursday 7th December π
It's going to be a real alt-folk/acoustic punk party, also featuring performances from Eyam, The Click Clacks and indefinite articles

We've got our first confirmed act for the launch of the at the Grafton Arms - the incredible Gideon Conn will be joining us on Friday 17th November!
Gideon Conn is a cult favourite on the UK indie songwriter circuit, with his unique sound influenced equally by folk and hip-hop, plus elements of everything from jazz to reggae.
Over his career, Gideon has released several critically acclaimed albums and shared stages with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz and dan le sac vs. Scroobius Pip. His latest LP, 'Being Gideon' was released in 2019.
This live session will feature Gideon alongside his new band, and they will be joined on the lineup by more featured artists to be announced this week!
Here's something we've been talking about for a very long time...

A special series of gigs, where invited artists will perform a short set that will be recorded before an intimate audience.
We will release highlights from each set on social media, but the live audience will get a unique chance to sit in on a kind of recording session.
Each performer will have full access to the mixed/mastered audio of their set, as well as video footage.
We've got some incredible artists lined up for these shows, and the first will be announced this evening π
From this week, the open mic at will be running monthly, on the last Thursday of every month!
This change is to free up time on the schedule, for lots of really cool things we have planned. Watch this space - we're announcing one tomorrow π
This is a great initiative. We use Skiddle as the primary ticket agent for all Third Summer Music shows, and look forward to seeing this in effect. Save our venues!

in 2019, The Northern Rambler's Hat became the first inanimate object to compete on TV's "The Voice UK", reaching the quarter-finals.
The Hat will be appearing at The Resurrection of The Northern Rambler on the 28th - will this be enough to bring the man himself back from...wherever he may be?
