Dress appropriately for mass

KABWE Catholic Diocese Bishop Clement Mulenga has urged Church members to dress appropriately during mass, particularly when receiving holy Eucharist.

Bishop Mulenga said this yesterday at the cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Kabwe in his homily to celebrate Corpus Christ, a Christian Solemnly which honors the institution of the Holy Eucharist.

“It is not a fashion show, it’s serious business,” he said.

“So dress appropriately and people should appreciate your dressing.”

Bishop Mulenga, who later led the congregation in a Corpus Christi procession in the community around the cathedral, said dressing in a decent manner is a requirement for Christians.

He urged people who are eligible to receive the Eucharist to prepare themselves well.

“As you receive the Eucharist, think of the redeemer. And dress appropriately and not that today, I will surprise the father,” Bishop Mulenga said.

“Like some girls, they put on mini-skirts, that is why sometimes you see that they are given wrappers to cover the exposed parts. Even men, putting on shirts when coming for mass, it is not acceptable. Even the hair should be well kept.

Bishop Mulenga said the Catholic Church believes that Jesus is in the Eucharist in his totality.

“In the holy Eucharist Jesus is Present. These are not just theories, these are realities,” he said.

May 30, 2024 - Police have arrested Obed Chileshe, aged 30, of Lusaka's New Kasama area in connection with the offence of Theft.

Mr. Chileshe, popularly known as Chile One, is alleged to have stolen money amounting to K6,530=00, property of Radio Maria Yatsani Voice, located in Lusaka, which was sent to his FNB account.

The transaction is reported to have occurred between April 27, 2023 and April 28, 2023.

Brief facts are that the Radio Station engaged the suspect to produce a Jingle (short song) which was quoted at K6,500=00.

The money is alleged to have been sent to the suspect's FNB account, which according to him did not reflect in his account.

Police investigations revealed that the Station management sent another K6,530=00 to his MTN mobile money number and agreed that once the FNB money reflect, he should refund them. The suspect produced the Jingle but did not pay back the money that was sent earlier to his FNB account.

The matter was reported to Police and investigations were instituted leading to his arrest, today, around 12:00 hours.

He is detained in custody yet to be formally charged.

‘Prophets’ fail to resurrect Rufunsa woman

A NAMED woman of Chief Bunda-Bunda chiefdom of Rufunsa district has died mysteriously leaving villagers in a jaw-dropping shock.

Meanwhile, self made prophets kept praying for the body after it was retrieved from the clinic for several hours with belief that she was alive but that only some spiritual forces had captured her heart.

According to some family members, the woman died in some early hours of yesterday in bed with her husband.

The source who is a close family member but preferred anonymity, said a few minutes after retiring to bed with her husband, she screamed and embraced her husband in terror as though something was after her life.

“But at that very moment, she became unconscious and changed her breathing which at some point completely stopped. She was later pronounced dead upon arrival at the clinic,” the source said.

The family member said the family could not believe the death pronouncement and opted to take the body home as it was in warm temperature.

She said it was at this point that the family decided to call well known self-made prophets that came to try and pray for the body to receive back life as the body maintained a warm temperature after several hours.

“We called four prophets and one of them has told us that she was still alive but the evil spirits but the evil spirits held on to her heart and that is why her body was still warm even after 10 hours,” she added.

The deceased was rushed to the hospital at 03:30 hours in the morning and by 15:45 press time, the body was still laying in the house with close family members and neighbors joining ‘Prophets' in the prayer efforts of calling back life.

The residence of the grieving family was engulfed with a crowd of local people who went to catch a glimpse of the happening.

MAUREEN MWANAWASA FACES MORE TROUBLE

The Lusaka High Court has ordered Levy Mwanawasa and Company law firm run by former first lady, Maureen Mwanawasa, to pay 100,000 dollars to NL Alterra, a Belgium based firm.

The said money is the negotiated sum of the full and final settlement of the reliefs granted to NL Alterra in a matter in which it sued Levy Mwanawasa law firm for failure to remit over 58, 000 dollars, being money which was paid to the law firm on behalf of NL Alterra.

According to a consent order, the money will be paid in installments and is expected to be settled on or before August 30, 2024.

In this matter, NL Alterra sued Levy Mwanawasa law firm for refusing to transfer over 58,000 dollars which it received on its behalf after the sale of a property in another case in which the law firm was offering legal services to NL Alterra.

Busted booze cruisers will be making a U turn to Livingstone court

THE Party may be over for most people who travelled to Livingstone this past weekend, however some will have to prepare their transport to 'go back to sender,' like pentecostal prayers, in order to answer to the charges of drunk driving.

Following the long weekend that had the country buzzing as all roads led to Zambia's Tourism Capital, Livingstone for the Mosi Day of Thunder, the watchful eyes of the Road, Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) managed to fish out 20 drivers who driving under the influence of alcohol.

And since most of the offenders weren't from Livingstone, and we're not fined, they will have to return to the city for a court hearing.

The agency was fully equipped this past weekend setting bait with their fancy speed cameras to ensure road safety as they anticipated an increase in drunk driving due to the festival's popularity.

The Mosi Day of Thunder attracts large crowds, and past events have seen a rise in drunk driving incidents.

Speaking during the mounting of speed cameras on the Lusaka - Livingstone road, RTSA Public Relations Manager, Mukela Mangolwa said majority of the motorists charged were not from Livingstone and were not fined.

But he said the offenders have to appear before the Fast Track Court on Thursday.

"A number of them were from out of town but we have stack our guns, they have to come back to Livingstone to go through the court process," revealed Mangolwa.

A 'fake it till you make it' lifestyle lands three in 'DEC web'

THREE Lusaka residents have found themselves caught up in the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC)'s web after the law enforcement agency found them in possession of fake US dollar notes.

DEC's assistant public relations officer Sydney Katongo confirmed that the trio was found in possession of counterfeit notes amounting to US$178,400 estimated to be over K4 million.

Katongo revealed that one of the suspects, Amos Malwindi a businessman from Libala South, 32, was intercepted by DEC officers near the University Teaching Hospital after attempting to flee from the transaction site.

"He was found with $173,300 (one hundred seventy three thousand, three hundred dollars) counterfeit notes." he said

He added that during a search of the 'magnet level' aspirant's house, officers found $5,100 counterfeit notes.

Two other suspects were, Esnart Phiri aged 53 from Chazanga area and Betty Kanyanga from Makeni area aged 49 where later apprehended near COMESA headquarters.

"All suspects have been arrested, charged and are awaiting court appearance" said Katongo

TANZANIA SWITCHES OFF PLANTS DUE TO EXCESS POWER

Authorities in Tanzania have shut down five hydroelectric stations in a bid to reduce excess electricity in the national grid, the country's prime minister has said.

Kassim Majaliwa said the main plant, Mwalimu Nyerere Hydroelectric Station, has alone generated enough electricity to power major cities, including Dar es Salaam, the country’s commercial hub.

"We have turned off all these stations because the demand is low and the electricity production is too much, we have no allocation now, “ an official from state-run power company, Tanesco, said.

The 2,115 MW Julius Nyerere hydropower dam is said to be almost full with water, following heavy rains that started early this year.

A current spell of extreme weather has caused at least 58 deaths in Tanzania and devastated other East African nations like Kenya.

It is the first time Tanzania, which suffers chronic power shortages, has closed hydroelectric stations due to excess production.

🚨 The estate of 2Pac has released a statement condemning Drake's use of a cloned voice of 2Pac in his track "TAYLOR MADE FREESTYLE". The estate claims that the voice was created using data sets of music owned by them and Interscope Records, and that they never gave permission for its use.

They are particularly upset that the track is a diss towards Kendrick Lamar, a close friend of the estate who has always been a advocate of 2Pac's enduring legacy. The estate has issued a cease and desist letter, obtained by Billboard, and is threatening to take legal action against Drake.

They are 'deeply dismayed' by the unauthorized use of 2Pac's voice and would never have approved of it.

Official announcement by the estate is as follows: "The Unauthorized, Equally Dismaying Use Of 2Pac's Voice Against Kendrick Lamar, A Good Friend To The Estate Who Has Given Nothing But Respect To 2Pac & His Legacy Publicly & Privately, Compounds The Insult.

Police debunk rumors of murder at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital

THE Zambia Police Service has moved to dispel rumors circulating on social media alleging a student nurse at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital killed a mental patient.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, issued a statement following a social media frenzy claiming a student nurse struck a mental patient with a brick after the patient accidentally injured the nurse's hand.

"Thorough investigation and follow up by police indicate that such an incident as purported on social media did not occur at the hospital," Hamoonga stated. "There is no evidence to support this claim."

Hamoonga urged the public and media outlets to verify information before dissemination.

"We understand the importance of accurate reporting and addressing public concerns promptly," he said.

Authorities however encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.

"We appreciate the cooperation of the public and media in this matter," added Hamoonga "The Zambia Police Service will continue to serve with integrity and professionalism.

MAN KILLS BOY, EATS BRAIN, GOES FOR LIVER

A 32-YEAR-OLD man of Chembe, Luapula Province, has been detained after he allegedly murdered and mutilated the body of a six-year-old boy, whose brain he claims he ate.

The suspected murderer was reportedly discovered in the act of preparing to consume the boy’s liver when the victim’s mother arrived at the scene in Chikushi village, Chembe.

Allan Kafwanka allegedly confessed to the murder and was subsequently apprehended by the police.

Darious Kafwanka, 26, reported at Chembe Police Station on behalf of his dumb sister, Marjory Mwewa, 41, that her son, Lazarus Mwewa, was murdered by Kafwanka, who allegedly chopped the body into pieces last Friday.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Lazarus was with his mother at home around 15:00 hours when Kafwanka, who is a relative, got him to help with some work at the nearby farm.

However, Kafwanka returned to the village alone from the farm after 18:00 hours, prompting the child’s mother to ask, using sign language, as to where he left her son.

Mr Hamoonga said in an effort to look for the child, Ms Mwewa went to check in Kafwanka’s house, where she found the liver on a plate. He said the victim’s body parts were found scattered in different locations.

“However, the head and the palms were not found and when the suspect was asked where they were, he explained that he threw them in a pit-latrine at the village headman’s premises,” Mr Hamoonga said.

“Police apprehended the suspect and collected the body parts which were found. However, with regards to the missing head and palms, which were thrown in the pit-latrine, the police communicated with the fire brigade department.”

Fire brigade, working with police, managed to retrieve both palms, ears and a crushed skull without the brain.

“The same body parts have been deposited into the mortuary at Mansa General Hospital awaiting post-mortem examination,” he said.

This book has caused outrage and *hostile criticism* from women, it explains how women since the earliest times have manipulated men and turned them into their slaves, they have *pretended* to be the oppressed s*x while in the real sense they are the oppressors.

She explains how a woman manipulates a man skillfully by steps like *courtship* and finally *marriage* , hence the saying “ *a man chases a woman until SHE catches him”* .

In her book she explains how the man is *tricked* to care for the woman all his life and her offspring.

He rolls the stone like *Sisyphus* and in turn gets rewarded by a few minutes of s*xual pleasure.

We can, by observing Esther Villars assertions that a man is a slave of his desires and the woman uses and has used it for thousands of years as a stick and carrot to keep the man chasing vanity and commit his life to serving her.

She goes ahead to explain the *rivalry of women* , how each woman feels the powerful urge and need to own a male for herself.

Like a *slave owner* she detests any move the man would make to offer his services to another woman. She uses all means to keep the man to herself and her offspring alone.

Esther Villar's sentiments are captured by Nigerian Poet, critic and writer, Chinweizu Ibekwe in his book, “The Anatomy of Female Power” (AFP) and Will Farrel's, “The Predatory Female”.

They all push the theory that all societies are matriarchal and not patriarchal as we are pushed and forced to believe. *Matriarchy has ruled not through brawn but wits and tricks;* women feigning weakness to be protected etc. Thus the male becomes the most exploited s*x in human history, (in wars the man is always ready to die for the woman; he has been trained to do that).

Chinweizu calls the idea of *dating* and *courtship* , *training* , like that of a horse. It is during this time that a woman having kept the man on a leash by denying him s*x and getting him addicted to her by false charms, trains and breaks him to whatever she wants him to become.

The marriage celebration becomes a celebration for the *woman and her friends,* and they all congratulate her for having succeeded in getting herself a *slave* .

A man on that *wedding* day waves goodbye to his independence and his coalition of males and commits himself to a *Sisyphean* life, rolling the stone, an act he cannot abandon having *society* and the *government* checking on him and always ready to *jail* , *shame* or *exile* him for absconding his duties of slavery.

Thus the government and society helps the woman in keeping her *slave*(man) in check.

Chinweizu gives a narration of how women are trained by older matriarchs to *tame* men. He explains how a man is trained to rely on women by his own mother.

A man is *shamed for cooking* for himself and other domestic chores by his *own mother* who is an agent of the global matriarchal rule.

By getting the man to hate *domestic* works and having it enforced by culture which warns men against going into the kitchen, doing *laundry* etc.

The mother trains his son for the woman who will captivate him and when the time comes she takes hold of the man's stomach and by getting the man addicted to her body she holds him by the two, in *bed* and in the *kitchen* .

With those two weapons she manipulates the man and turns him into her plaything.

In the “Myth of the Male Power”, Esther Villar's “A Man's Right to the Other Woman”; “The Polygamous S*x”, the authors of those books challenge the narrative that men oppress women, and by detailed research across African, Western and Eastern both in ancient and modern societies, the authors unravel the hidden power of the ruthless matriarchal power that rules the world.

Also Helen E. Fisher did anthropological research of ancient human societies and wrote the book "The S*x Contract, The evolution of human behaviour" 1982. She too came to the conclusion that Marriage is a selfish creation of a Woman, where she uses s*x to manipulate a man to take care of her and her offspring. Other male animals do not carry the same burden and responsibility.

COURT GRANTS DIVORCE, MAN WEAK IN BED, WOMAN WANTS ENOUGH SÈX AFTER FINANCING HER DEGREE

THE Choma Local Court has granted divorce to a couple after the wife sued, citing lack of s*xual satisfaction from the husband.

Appearing before Magistrates Stanley Hankanga and Martin Siame, Monday morning, was Precious Phiri, aged 41, who dragged the father of her three children, Method Kanyamali, 42, of Choma`s Kachacha area to the local court seeking for divorce.

The woman told the Court that since they were married in 2004, she has never been s*xually satisfied despite several efforts to seek help from both religious leaders and family elders.

The woman stated that even after seeking help, the man did not improve his bedroom performance, explaining that the situation became worse in 2016, leading her to seek s*xual favours from another man.

But Kanyamali told the Court that his wife only started complaining of his alleged weak manhood after obtaining a Bachelors Degree which he financed despite himself not being educated.

He complained that his wife`s behavior became uncontrollable after she got a Job in Lusaka at a named government wing, during which she began ignoring him each time he visited.

Kanyamali further told the court that his wife got pregnant for another man while they still legally married together and only disclosed the issue three weeks ago.

Lusaka woman braiis own daughter over missing coins

A WOMAN of Lusaka's Kanyama Compound lost all her motherly love, care and kindness and resorted to burning her own daughters buttocks, back and hands on suspicion that she had stolen money.

Armed with a brazier, the 35-year old took the role of the devil in hell and went to work, inflicting countless burns on her daughter aged only nine.

Police have now arrested the woman and placed the girl in a safe home.

Zambia Police Service spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the victim reported the abuse to the Victim Support Unit at Kanyama Police Station yesterday.

She revealed that her mother had inflicted the burns last Friday after accusing her of stealing money.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed the incident and said the woman initially tried to deceive officers by claiming the injuries were from a fall.

However, following an investigation, the victim's account was corroborated, leading to the suspect's arrest.

"According to the victim's account, she sustained multiple burns all over her back and buttocks as a result of the assault, inflicted using a cooking stick and brazier," Hamoonga revealed.

"The suspect physically assaulted the victim with a cooking stick before attempting to further harm her by placing her hands on the burning brazier. In the struggle that ensued, the victim fell onto the blazer, resulting in severe burns."

The child has been placed in a safe home and received medical attention while the suspect remains in custody for the offence of assault on a child as investigations continue.

Authorities have urged the community to report any instances of child abuse or violence.

TASILA MUST PROVE LUNGU BOUGHT HER FARM - DEC

The State has challenged former President Edgar Lungu’s daughter, Tasila, to disclose her father’s financial sources and prove that he is the one who gave her money to buy a farm in Sinda.
The State, through the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), submits that it is crucial for Ms Lungu to provide documentation of the former President’s involvement in the buying of her farm in Eastern Province.
DEC senior investigations officer Emmanuel Khondowe submits that Ms Lungu should prove how Mr Lungu assisted her in buying and developing the property.
The State filed a notice of motion in court to forfeit farm F/2278, which has fish ponds constructed at K13.9 million, deemed proceeds of crime.

Hard labour continues haunting thieving bricklayer as jail adopts him

A 36-year-old bricklayer in Mwenda Chiefdom of Chikakanta has been immediately adopted into the orange wearing family of Commissioner General Fredrick Chilukutu for the next 1,095 days over theft.

Byta FM reports that Dennis Chilala, was convicted of housebreaking and theft for three with hard labour after he was caught stealing kitchen essentials and food staff worth K1000.

"Particulars of the offence are that on March 28, 2024, Chilala did break into the house of Petronela Simubili and stole a bag of mealie meal, 5 kilograms of Kapenta, 5 kilograms flour,15 kilograms dry maize, in addition to 5 kilograms of washing powder," Byta reported.

Unfortunately, Chilala learned the hard way that stealing a pantry's worth of provisions can land you in a concrete jungle of a different kind.

In Mitigation Chiilala asked for leniency due stating that he was remorseful and had a condition of epilepsy.

However, his plea fell on deaf ears for the judge, who reasoned that if he could mastermind a midnight snack heist, he likely possessed the cunning to manage his condition.

The judge's gavel echoed in the courtroom as she slammed it, sealing the defendant's fate and gifting him Chilala a three years sentence with hard labour.

As Chilala embarks on his journey of correction, one thing is for sure, blisters will be miles away like ba Matero in a heist as manual labour won't be a new thing to him.
