Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion
‘Jesus went out with his disciples across the Kidron valley

Morning

Sadly, that is how many of us live. We hold back the best of ourselves and our care until a tragedy or even death happens.
I call it knee-jerk love, the kind of love that is triggered by tragedy.
This kind of love is often emotion-driven and not purpose-driven. When you love out of emotions you only love when there is a reason to be sorry or out of a feeling of regret or the fear of a threat.
But is that love really? Is love dependent on a tragedy and then when things are well we withhold it?...
Have you ever seen how when as a people we face a terrorist attack or a major catastrophe we are loving, neighbourly and kind to each other and then after the tragedy we go back to our hateful, detached, "I don't care" shell?...
Have you noticed how during a funeral we easily come together to show love to people who we ignored, took for granted and mistreated when they were alive?...
We easily give out money for funeral arrangements but when the person was alive we made them beg for our help.
A husband or wife can say all the wonderful things about their dead spouse but when the spouse was alive, love was rarely shown. Is that love really? Is love circumstantial or substantial, bearing substance in all seasons?
That's how many people handle relationships, they are big on love when things are bad. When their spouse is sick they are very caring, but when the spouse gets well, they go back to being cold.
Are you waiting for the special people in your life to die so that at their funeral you say all the caring words to them when they can't even hear?
Are you waiting for someone to be bed-ridden, in a coma or in the grave for you to tell them you love them yet when they are in good health you don't even bother to love?... "I love you" has meaning only when the person is around to receive it...
Are you waiting for the threat of losing someone in your life to trigger you to value them?
Are you waiting for them to be in a sorry state so that you love them out of pity? This life was meant to be lived through love.

John 13:34-35
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.

THURSDAY, 14 DECEMBER 2017.

BE ENCOURAGED! DON'T GIVE UP.

I watched a local football match in a school playing ground. As I sat down, I asked one of the boys what the score was.

With a smile, he replied; "They are leading us 3-0" !

And I said, REALLY!!

I have to say you don't look discouraged.

"Discouraged?" the boy asked with a puzzled look ...

Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle?

I have confidence in the team and the managers; We shall definitely overcome!

Truly, the match ended 5-4 in favor of the boy's team!

He waved at me gently, with a beautiful smile as he left; I was amazed, mouth wide open; Such confidence; Such beautiful faith;

As I got back home that night, his question kept coming back to me:
"Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle?"

Life is like a game.

Why should you be discouraged when The Almighty God is your manager? Why should you be discouraged, when there's still life? Why should you be discouraged when your final whistle has not sounded? The truth is that many people blow the final whistle themselves;

But as long as there is life, nothing is impossible and it is never too late for you.

Half time is not full time and HIS calendar for your life is not man's calendar.

Don't blow the whistle yourself.

BE ENCOURAGED! DON'T GIVE UP.

With God all things are still possible!"

Everyday is a fresh start with potentials. .. keep the faith.... keep on believing in God .

Christians must continue to acquire knowledge, especially for businesses, today one can have a refresher course on line,or by reading books,or through tutors,knowledge can help one to pray better.We read about great men like Daniel & Paul-who understood by books not prophecy.However prophecy is important but it can't take the place of knowledge.Prophecy encourages,rebukes, builds,and knowledge illuminates, equips, opens the mind.

Therefore get wisdom in thy getting get understanding.

Knowledge for business and finances don't come through laying of hands,but through businesses studies e.t.c.

Laying of hands brings impartation of blessings,and reading ,studying and working activates the blessings within the individual.

*SALVATION IS ONLY BY JESUS*

_*"He Who is our God is the God of Salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death."*_

The expression _"belong the issues from death"_ also means _"belong the escapes from death."_ Oh how wonderful! We have a God who delivers us and rescues us from death - from everlasting death.

I was recently discussing the topic of eternal life with my very close Moslem friend; and he told me that he believes that Allah will give him eternal life in heaven as long as he follows Muhammad.

_"How can you be sure of resurrection and eternal life, and yet Muhammad that you are following is on record to have died, been buried, and did not resurrect?"_ I asked. And I assured him that Muhammad did not have the power to raise himself from the dead, so he cannot start by raising you today to receive eternal life.

1 Corinthians 15:20,24-26 says, _*"But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruit of those who have fallen asleep. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death."*_

Everlasting death is our final enemy to be dealt with; and it's not like death's fate isn't known. It is. God has already sentenced death to everlasting doom. Now, it surprises me to find a Born again Christian who says they believe in Jesus Christ and yet still expect to end up in everlasting death because of the sins they committed after their day of Salvation. They think Jesus took care of their pre-conversion sins, and on their own they will take care of their post-conversion sins. Beloved! Christ paid for your past, present, and future sins once and forever, don't make Him of no effect in your life. Hallelujah!
