Dilpreet Singh, Gurjant Singh and Hardik Singh all from Panjab scored to knockout Great Britain in the Olympics Hockey Quarter Finals and help India advance to the Semi-finals.
India play World Champions Belgium in their semi-final. It is the first time since 1980 that they have reached the Olympics semi-final stage when they went on to win Gold.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, and Lady Wigston visited the Central Gurdwara in Shepard’s Bush.
They were welcomed by the most senior Sikh in the Service, Warrant Officer Balbir Singh Flora, and the highest ranked Sikh in the Armed Forces, Wing Commander Manjeet Singh Ghataora. After explaining the basics of how the temple functioned, the Air Chief Marshal and Lady Wigston were given appropriate head coverings, before going on to meet the President of the Gurdwara, Gurpreet Singh Anand. He explained that the Gurdwara had a significant connection with the RAF, as it had been formed with the help of Lieutenant Hardit Singh Malik, a First World War veteran, who was one of only four Indian pilots to have flown with the Royal Flying Corps and subsequently the RAF.

Meet Louis Singh Khalsa , a 23-year-old white man who has embraced Sikhism and has joined the New Zealand Army. His original name was Louis Talbot. His mother is from England and his father is from New Zealand. Louis first met a Sikh at a friend’s place in 2015 and asked him about Sikhism. He told Louis to visit the Gurdwara in Christchurch. “When I went there I felt a different kind of calm,” says the Sikh New Zealander.
He then started visiting the Gurudwara every week where he met several Sikhs who inspired him to follow the Sikh way of life. In June 2018, Louis went to Punjab and lived with a Sikh family. He took Sikh baptism at Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib. Louis learned Gurmukhi, reciting Sikh prayers, and visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar. He practiced Punjabi by reading signboards on the streets. Later, when he returned to New Zealand he learned to play Tabla and sing Kirtan. On July 4, he was the center of attraction during the passing out parade for 63 new inductees into the New Zealand army.

Britain’s first female Sikh powerlifter is breaking stereotypes with every lift
Karenjeet Kaur Bains has been selected to represent GB in the World Powerlifting Championships in Sweden in June.
Karenjeet to be the first Sikh female to represent GB on such a world class stage.

A Sikh man was refused entry into Wembley stadium to watch the Italy v Spain match on July 6, 2021, due to the size of his article of faith.
Arjan Singh, 28, travelled to Wembley from Rugby with his friend to watch the semi-final after paying £300 each for the tickets.
He described being “treated like a criminal” after security guards refused his entry into the stadium due to the size of his Kirpan.
A spokesperson from FA (Football Association) said, Arjan was disallowed entry into Wembley stadium as his Kirpan exceeded the size limit, as set out by guidance online.
However, according to Arjan, he was prevented from entering the stadium even when the security team initially measured his Kirpan to be six inches - which is within the size limit.
Arjan and his friend, Martin, 27, waited over two hours speaking with security guards before leaving Wembley Stadium.
After the incident, a member of FA offered Arjan and Martin tickets for England v Denmark match on July 07, 2021.
Arjan brought a smaller Kirpan with him to the England match (July 7) and has described the treatment by FA staff today as "amazing."

Many congratulations to Adesh Parkash Singh Pannu, the son of a marginal farmer from Chaudhariwala village (Naushehra Pannuan) in Tarn Taran district. who has been commissioned as a Flying Officer in the Indian Air Force.
Adesh is a student of NDA preparatory academy Nishan-e-Sikhi, Khadoor Sahib, Tarn Taran and is just 19-years old!
