Now that the dust has settled, we want to take a moment to thank you all.

The reaction to our temporary closure has been overwhelming; having spent the last few days in the bar reading over your kind words and thinking about the next steps, it's been so encouraging to see such positive stories of our staff, our venue, and our safety practices.

We love having you all in Siberia, from first-time visitors to our daily regulars; it's very odd having a walk around the bar with nobody inside! With that being said, we'll be back very soon and in the meantime, we have plenty of things to tell you about!

This is Josh, Scott K, Matthew, Rachel, Raf, Mickey, Lauren, Caron, Gary, Nicole, Scott A, Rowan, Marcus, Lucy, India, Kirsty, Lewis, Davie, Yann, Poppy and Craig.

Every single one of these individuals, alongside our team of directors, have devoted an unbelievable amount of time to keep you safe and comfortable in Siberia, despite the huge list of restrictions placed on us. Nobody wants to shout at you on the stairs for going the wrong way on the one-way system, nobody wants to tell you off for playing music on your phone, nobody wants to tell you a million rules when you walk in the door, but we do it for you. We do it for your safety and for the safety and well being of our staff.

Siberia isn’t just a bar to so many people; it’s home - a place to chat, to laugh and to make memories. Many of our staff are students who not only have to learn through ZOOM calls as part of their studies, but are also hundreds of miles away from their families; Siberia acts as their 2nd family - we support and provide a space for these people to work and interact with each other. Since March we have been forced to close 3 times; it has never been easy. Lockdowns, however restrictive, can be tough; so for the next little while especially (although this should be always), we urge you to check on your friends. We class every member of staff, every contractor, every person involved in our supply chain, everyone who plays a part in the wider Aberdeen/ National sector and every customer as family - be good to each other and know this is all only temporary.

To the staff - we appreciate you; work never feels like work with you all around.

To our friends, family and loyal customers - we’ll be back soon, thanks.

Today, the Night-Time Industries Association Scotland (NTIAS) launches the Campaign - to fight for an end to the background music ban. The campaign hopes to raise awareness around the ban by calling on people to share their favourite song of all time along with the hashtag.
