Today is ***depreventionday and September is ***depreventionmonth.
The semi-colon is a punctuation point that an author chooses to use to continue a thought after a brief pause. They could have ended the sentence there, but they decided to write on. It is a powerful symbol not only in writing, but in mental health.
The semi-colon has been adopted by su***de survivors and mental health warriors as a symbol of hope, strength, and resilience.
If you are struggling, let this be your reminder that you are not a burden... you are carrying one. There’s a difference.
You are not alone.
You matter.
You are loved.
You are needed.
You are worthy of feeling better.
Whenever you feel like ending your story... pause, take a breath, and place a semi-colon where you want to put a period; then start writing again tomorrow.
If you or someone you love are struggling, please reach out for help. Visit and check out the “helplines” story highlight for a list of international crisis helplines.
Go bravely, warriors. ✨
